The place is not advisable for solo travelers. You will enjoy it most with your friends. The quad bike “dabbab” rent is about 40 SR (price depends on season i guess) but you can always negotiate. Note to females, do not go too far and don’t drive alone as it could be unsafe for you. You can have your friends or family along or race with you.
There are options also, you can choose the elevated area or the obstacle course (like the places for motor cross). The elevated area is a bit crowded yet you can always drive away from the crowd. You just have to be careful of the hidden cliffs in the obstacle course and be quick to evade displaced rocks along the way too as it could cause accidents specially if you drive fast.
One of the obvious bad side is the litters so it you travel there. Please make sure not to leave your wastes. Another advise, empty your bladders before traveling as it will be hard for you to find a hygienic place to dispose your urine.

We went here for the quad bike and to unwind from the busy lifestyle. I enjoyed the quadbike though its a little bit dangerous when we were uphill. A bit dirty because they dont have proper garbage disposal and the rest room also is not clean. The view from above is expectacular. On the way also to the red sand you can see nice rock formation. The quadbike rent range from 25-70

this place is the best place in Riyadh if you want to go out and hang out with friends and families.. it surely is sandy, but i must say- it's all worth it!! the view from the top, the ride going up and down, the fear from off-loading yourself from the ATV trying to reach on the top, the way you fight yourself holding on tight on the ATV while rocking yourself on the fine sand and controlling everything in between just to be on the top and see the perfect view of "sand over sand".. it's just so fascinating!! and i love it!

Had been to Red sands a fewtimes and each time i go there I enjoy it a lot..Go with with a lot of friends or family to enjoy a evening in the desert. Take your own food as nothing is available anywhere nearby. Best time to visit is in the evenings as the weather will be cool. Be sure that you will come back home with a hell lot of sand in your pockets and shoes.

The place is around 80KM from Riyadh. The road is good and easy to find using google maps. When you reach there you can hire a bike to roam the sand dunes and can take some pictures. The 90 CC bikes we hired got stuck some times up hill and I had to get off and push it. But all in all it was good experience and we enjoyed.

There were a couple of toilets available but not properly maintained and water had to be taken from outside. There isn't any shaded place available to rest so plan early morning or afternoon.

We went on a day-trip from Riyadh. The problem is that there is basically no information, no website, nowhere to call to find anything out. Our group wanted to go camel-riding. We were told by some locals you could do that at Red Sands. So we rented a bus and off we went.

Upon arrival, we found that we'd need to ride ATVs to get to the camels. Fine... but the guys who rented from us gave absolutely no safety demonstration, no safety check, no helmets, nothing to protect us... and the worst almost happened. One of the women in our group got her shawl caught in the axel and was yanked off the vehicle, which then ran her over. She's lucky it broke her neck.

So please learn from our mistake: If you go here (or ATV'ing ANYWHERE), DO NOT WEAR FLOWING, LOOSE CLOTHING LIKE SHAWLS OR SCARVES.

To make it worse, at the end of our trip, they tried to say the rate they quoted us was the hourly rate, not the total agreed upon rate, leading to an unpleasant argument.

If you can get out into the red dunes and get away from the pesky ATVs / quad bikes and mounds of garbage everywhere, then you will find miles and miles of pristine gorgeous red sand desert. Deflate your tires and drive into the desert for a couple of kilometres. Have a picnic (and DO NOT leave your garbage), hike up the dunes. Truly something not to be missed.

Personally most interesting place in saudi arabia for outdoor activities. Best place to enjoy with family or friends. . Riding ATVs on sand will give us awesome experience.for the price you pay for the Bikes is really worth.

Small ATV bike will cost 30 SAR to 40 SAR. (Auto gear)

With manual gear and with clutch will cost 100SAR to 200SAR.. price can be discuss with the owner of the bikes..

Everyone who in Saudi arabia must visit this place. The place around moutains. And the view of the mountains will give u a feeling like you are in an another planet..
