Approximately 6 Kilometers North of Mecca. It is located near the road from Mecca to Mina. The Cave of Hira, where it is believed that the first revelation was sent down to the Prophet of Islam, was given this name, meaning light, because it is located on this mountain. Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam, Hated Idolatry Even Before He Became a Prophet. When the month of Ramadan came, he would take his provisions, retreat to the Hira Cave in Cebel-i Nur (Nur Mountain), and stay there for days and contemplate. Hira Cave, which is located on Cebel-i Nur (Nur Mountain) and still exists today, is only high enough for a person to stand and long enough for him to lie down.

The first experience of standing up a hill in the desert area! departing in the winter season feels hot under the temperature of 41c. The atmosphere is very crowded. Many people climb up the blue tugu to pray to ask for help.

At the foot of the hill many ice merchants & by such as Tasbih & Sajadah. There is also a photographer service.

Located in Arafah, Jabal Rahmah holds a significant meaning as this was the location reportedly where Prophet Adam A.S. and Hawa A.S. were reunited and also where Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. delivered his final sermon of his final Hajj. Please use the stairs on the far side to climb the site rather than traversing on the rocky steep side of the mountain. Beware of the touts getting you to buy souvenirs and offering photography service and charging an exorbitant amount for a low quality Polaroid photo of you.

Brothers and Sisters in Islam.
I am not a young person but enjoying 65th year of my life still trying to learn who I am and what is the purpose of my life in this world. If we did not explore what hardship our Prophet pbuh went through during His time in Makkah, to me we did not learn anything.
If we did not explore what hardship our Prophet pbuh went through during His time in Makkah, to me we did not learn anything.
I am sure that most of us either do not know or don't have time to visit some places in Makkah except, performing Umrah / Hajj and run back thinking we did all and know every thing we need to know.
And those who have seen and visited those places, ask them what they think of it.
EVERY ONE MUST visist at least once.

MAKKAH MUSEUM..... located few miles and taxi charges 50 SR.
I alongwith my wife, Shiraz (son), Shiraz's wife, 2 lovely grand children Manan and Malaika, Zubair (son in law), Zubair's wife (my daughter) and Zubair's mother visited this museum.
It is a place where one sees things beyond one's imagination. No matter how much I explain, seeing is believing.... It carries breath taking things in it.

CAVE OF HIRA....This mountain is about 2.5 miles from Haram and taxi charges about 20 SR.
I alongwith my wife, Shiraz (son) and Zahid (brother) climbed this mountain and spent the best time of our lives, praying inside the cave and had the oppurtunity to see through the hole, our beloved Prophet pbuh used to lay down and see KABBAH which you can not see now due to construction. It is very hard and tiring climbing the mountain but if one has the will nothing stops you. Think of the days Prophet pbuh used to climb when there were no stairs and hazrat Khadija used to carry food for him bare footed on rugged sharp stones...

CAVE OF SOOR.... This is the mountain which is about 3 miles and taxi charges about 25/30 SR.
I alongwith my son Shiraz and Zubair (son in law) climbed this. It took us about 2 tough hours to reach the top. Much more tougher to climb compared to Hira. Sandy rocks which are given stairs shape are slippery and very hard to climb. Amazing sight. Imagine when Prophet pbuh and his companian Hazrat Abu Bakr RA climbed this bare footed. Imagine the daughter of Abu Bakr took their food night time at 10 years of age. Looking at cave where one can hardly sit down is breath taking where Prophet and Abu Bakr hid themselves. I did see A HOLE where Abu Bakr put his foot but not sure if it is the same and also I did not find anyone who could answer with authencity but I think it is the one. Normally when we go up there forget these small but VERY IMPORTANT things but I made sure I see everything in detail.
Standing on the top of this mountain, you can see all around including Mina and surrounding area and one has a feeling on top of the world.... BUT STILL you look UP to ALLAH swt.

LIBRARY... this the place where it is said that Prophet Mohammad pbuh was born supposedly. But at the same time it reads that not authenticated... I did speak to lots of people about it and came to conclusion that since our il-fated people start to do things which are against teaching of Islam.

There are lots of other places we had the oppurtunity to visit which I will write later.

Amazing place and knowing the history of this place makes it even better. Use the stairs to go up, and the rocks to come down-its not that bad. The stairs are congregated, you will also find people trying to sell things on the stairs and at the top. Keep bags secured as there are a lot of people some coming in the opposite direction and hold on to the edge.

As with other reviewers had mentioned, this place has a great significance in Islam. Remember not to do things such as writing names on the stone, doa/pray to the stone. There was a lot of stuff to buy around this area.

This place located in mount Arafat area. There are many people who gave special prayer/Dua ini this place (however please noted that there isn't any verse in Quran and hadist that support this claim, so personally I didn't perform any rite here). There are water sprinkles in this site ( to maintain humidity and temperature).

The mount in Arafaat on which, the Holy Prophet of Islam while sitting on a camel delivered Hajj sermon to nearly 100,000 companions is called Jabal-Rehmat. The exact place on the top of this small mount is marked by a small white pillar, which is visited all year round by the visitors. The area of Mina , Muzdalifa, Masjid Nimra &even Mecca's Clock tower is visible from here. One can pray here as it is a very blessed place. It's good to have head covered to protect from heat. During Hajj people climb up this mountain in large numbers & it appears white due to people wearing Ahraam.
A blessed place not to be missed on your visit to Makkah. There is no public transport available except in Hajj days, but a taxi for ziaraat would normally start their tour from here.

Great feelings to be here. Where Adam and Eve meet each other after many years. And also where Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) gave his last speeches on his last Hajj. Riding this small hill and can look whole of the Arafat Maidan. Great view.
