The tour of Jesus's baptism site was amazing. We were able to see where the actual baptism took place and we were able to spend time at the Jordan river!!

Wasn't initially part of the plan. But had lot of time on our way back to Amman to catch our flight in the evening. Though not a Christian ... saw this place for its significance. Had a good tour. Ended up seeing Jordan river, the Baptismal site, and Israel border. The shop with its souvenirs are very pricey.... No one... More

For the dedicated although the River what's left of it is so muddy and one can baptise oneself if one feels like it. One can almost smell the history of the place.

A most see religious site to be experienced when touring Jordan. This is the place where Jesus Christ was baptized on the east side of the Jordan River. It was situated on the front line of the Israeli Wars. You walk to the Mantle Chapel, where Christ was baptized on a covered and protected path, in an area that was... More

Really interesting site to see but here was the problem. They decide when they want to load a bus and take you to the site. Then they decide when you are done seeing the first 'pool' and walk you as a group to a church. Nothing really to see there except they want you to buy trinkets. They then decide... More

I'm a proud atheist but was still very interested in visiting this site. Historically, two things are certain about Jesus, that he was baptised and that he was crucified. (See "Historical Jesus" on Wikipedia) Taking this into account, the most probable site of his baptism is definitely worth a visit as the site literally gave birth to such a world-changing... More

I am by no means a strictly religious person, but I do identify as 'Christian' and even if you are not religious at all, you cannot helped be moved by this area and the significance of what it means to people. It is said to be the baptism site of Jesus Christ, and you definitely get a strong sense of... More

The traditional place of Jesus' baptism. So close to Israel you swim (but you would get shot as it's an international border). Very interesting and super worth while going.
