One of the main highlights while in Amman, Jordan. King Hussein Bin Talal Mosque, the former king of Hashemite and the father of the present king Abdullah Bin Al Hussein.
It’s an architectural beauty, surrounded by a large park. It has enough parking for hundreds of cars. Many beautiful arches and amazing lighting.

King Hussein Bin Talal Mosque is the largest mosque in Jordan.
built in 2005 in the reign of King Abdullah II in West Amman, specifically in Al Hussein Public Parks at King Abdullah II Street near King Hussein Medical Center.
The mosque is located at an altitude of 1,013 metres above sea level and can thus be seen from most parts of Amman.
It is square and features four minarets and marble floors.
In 2012, King Abdullah opened the Museum of the Prophet which houses a number of relics associated with the Islamic prophet Muhammad.
Highly recommended and a must visit wherever you are visiting Amman .

Even our tour guide did not realise till we got there that the mosque was not open to non Muslims. This was very disappointing for a country that claims to practice religious tolerance.

I would recommend to pass by the mosque at night (Ishaa prayer) so you can view it with the lights on, however even at daytime the surrounding gardens are really well maintained. As for visiting for praying purposes, the mosque itself is very clean and looked after, it even offers parking spaces!

I greatly enjoyed visiting the Mosque - something we did during the day. It was both peaceful and quiet with very few tourists present. We also especially liked the gift shop that you walk through to get to the Mosque - although staff are obviously there to sell you items, they also took their time in answering questions, explaining history and culture, etc. I'm so glad we made this a stop on our first time visit to Jordan.

It's a beautiful mosque, our tour group was welcomed and we found the talk on prayers very interesting. As with all mosques, you remove your shoes before entering and women were given long robes with hoods to wear. Afterward the women who work at the mosque offered us warm tea and dates and helped with purchases in the gift shop. We were never told not to take photos, and our group of 24 were avid photographers.

I live in Amman and I usually see this mosque in the distance. I had some friends who liked to visit it, so I arranged a visit with it.
Women should be covered in order to get inside.
Architecture is nice is general. Garden are full of semi arid region plants...

▪Why king Abdullah mosque in Alabdali is {open} for (all kind) of visitors in the world, while king Hussein is NOT?
▪WHY, there is no phone# .............
open for the public or the tourists to communicate with the Public Service Office in the mosque?
▪Why, there is no website for this beautiful mosque?
▪Why there is NO brouchers for the mosque?
