I had a wonderful hike from Jesus Cave to Pella. The scenery is beautiful in the spring. Mahmood is a great guide and shared historical information about the sites.

The best part...was EVERYTHING! Literally everything. I never thought I would be able to travel in Jordan and experience the hiking, the culture, the food and tour historic sites but I did all of it. I had the best trip and my tour guide Ahlam was fantastic.

We traveled with Explorer Chick and Experience Jordan. Ask for Ahlam Serhan as your Experience Jordan guide. She is knowledgeable, energetic and knows the best hiking routes in Jordan. Petra, the Dead Sea, Bedouin camps and hospitality and the Wadi Rum were amazing! We had a great time!

What a fantastic experience I had in Jordan! Traveled with Explorer Chick and Ahlam from Experience Jordan was our local guide. She was very knowledgeable about Petra, Wadi Rum and every place we visited. Ahlam went above and beyond my expectations. Our accommodations were wonderful and she helped make my trip memorable.

PRO / CON - OUTSTANDING AND CHALLENGING HIKING TREK TOUR OFF THE BEATEN PATH WITH GUIDE MAHMOOT ATTAL OF EXPERIENCE JORDAN "My reviews are concise, unbiased, and honest. I like to contribute because the reviews of other fellow Tripadvisor contributors have aided me in my travels through the years. I hope my reviews can help you make educated travel plans so as to maximize your fun and enjoyment while avoiding negative experiences. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Good luck and safe travels! :)" INTRO: This review is for the 8-Day Experience Jordan Adventures Tour from Dana to Petra Including Wadi Rum and Dead Sea (Tour Guide - Mahmood Attal) BACKGROUND: I am a solo male traveler aged 30's from America (with 45+ countries visited) and visiting Jordan for the first time for 9 days. Total Amount paid was approx $1.4k USD with tips. I've participated in over 3 dozen travel/food tours throughout the world. PRO -Location. Airport pickup was $35 USD. Easy to find the meeting spot. The driver was safe and very accommoding  even willing to drive me at the last minute to Sufra Restaurant just before covid curfew, for my first dinner in Jordan. While eating, he even offered to pick me up a local dessert - Kanafeh.  Outstanding service! The first night was at Compass Hotel - basic, clean, safe. Not luxury and not near much tourist areas, restaurants, nor sights. -Hiking Trek. Overall an amazing adventure with a solid group of individuals from all parts of the world. The camaraderie and teamwork was evident throughout the entire trek. Difficulty Level - Moderate and appropriate for anyone with hiking experience. Challenging but worthwhile at times due to incline and rocky terrain. Mahmood led a very reasonable and consistent pace throughout our journey. He was very safe and respectful to the needs of the group making sure people were hydrated and rested during breaks. There were morning briefings describing the activities/journey and a debrief where he was open to suggestions and input. Also very knowledgeable on all aspects of history, culture, and wildlife. I was hoping to take unforgettable pictures and videos of the trek and he was more than accommodating to aid in the experience !! -Food - The camp food was outstanding upon return every afternoon, truly genuine Jordanian dishes. The food for breakfast was basic and traditional (eggs, hummus, labenah, etc.). The lunch was packed ourselves and we were welcome to take whatever fruit, cheeses, and snacks. Water was bountiful and available for us. The highlight was the delicious dinner made hot and fresh at the end of each day. Bedouin camp food was also fantastic and authentic, but secondary to the great wilderness camp chef! On visit to Dead Sea, we used the beach of Holiday Inn - very basic and Westernized buffet style menu, dry and not nearly as good as the traditional camp and Bedouin food! -Activities. We visited Dana Valley, Little Petra, Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea. Few tourists around and many clear/open spots due to covid -Camp - Basic tents with mat and blanket, true wilderness camping and Not glamping in the wilderness except at the Bedouin camps which had more amenities. Bathroom amenities were outhouse style and water to splash-bathe was available. Definitely a fun, rugged, and genuine experience! -Guide - Mahmood pointed out various landmarks and cultural sites as we ventured to spots. The intervals between walking/rest/eating were perfect. Mahmood was a great conversationalist and had a wide travel background and some exciting stories. He made good effort to know every group member and made us tea at each lunch,  true hospitality! -Safety. We felt safe the entire time and although the hike required true physical demands and effort, it was very reasonable with the pace and breaks. Hydration was a constant reminder. CON -NONE! You will Not leave this tour without fantastic memories and amazing pictures. The value of the tour was worth the cost of admission! -Minor notes - Don't expect genuine Jordanian food at the Compass Hotel, entire menu is Westernized. For authentic fare venture out beyond the hotel if you have time before curfew. -Other - 2 nights in Wadi Rum could have been cut to 1 night if necessary to allow for more exploration of other sights/areaa. This portion was more relaxed and chill with a lot of downtime. SUMMARY -Overall a fantastic, memorable, and high value hiking tour with an amazing tour guide. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND requesting Mahmood Antal as your guide as he will ensure a safe, amazing experience. The energy and enthusiasm among the group members made it fun and exciting as we travelled throughout the country. You can truly tell that Mahmood is enthusiastic about his job and he does his best to ensure that his visitors truly gain an authentic taste of both the wilderness, food and culture of Jordan. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience! Overall- "It was not so bad" ;)
