This area is gradually taking over from Rainbow street as the place to visit for bars, restaurants, art galleries and just generally wandering around. The two streets that should be visited are located by Paris Square (which is actually a circle). The place really comes alive at night as there are few visitors before then. I really enjoyed the street art on walls and on buildings

Just try a city tour with some locals in Jabal Al Lweibdeh. It’s a part of Amman, a bit old and nearby downtown of the city. We started with Paris Square, many old houses for sell or renovation, many houses converted into cafes, commercial street full of restaurants, cafes and antique shops. You can try Sausage shawarma as well.

If you're in Jebel al Weibdeh, specifically Paris Circle, take a walk over to Volks Burger for their awesome burgers, then walk across the street to Jo Bedu (awesome t-shirt shop). There's a cool coffee shop just steps down from Volks Burger (Caffeinated Art, I think it's called?). Paris Circle (in Arabic, "Dawar Paris") is an interesting but less touristy (read: Rainbow St) area. Between By the Lemon Tree B&B (best place to live in Amman) and the Stop N Shop grocery is an amazing, authentic mosaic shop which is across the street from "Caesars", a night club (ok, I've never been in there but I've seen ads...)

An area that connects the old and the new city, under development, where new buildings have started to be built. That's the beautiful part. Here you can find Abdali Mall and the King Abdullah I Mosque. But there are a lot of ugly, unmaintained, sad buildings.

One of the oldest Jabal "mountain" in Jordan, I love to walk there specially at night, it is calm somehow, and the old buildings add so much to the atmosphere. dont forget to eat Falafel from Abu Mahjoub.

This area has three streets coming off Paris Square (which is,really a circle ) that have food, cafes, coffee shops etc.few shops and art shops scattered around too. Many things don't open til 1pm so a visit later in day is wise. I enjoyed strolling around the area. For me it was better than Rainbow Street.

Jabal means a mountain, and it's one of the oldest mountains that the city of Amman was built on.
It has nice buildings, lots of cafes and places to eat but what I love about Jabal al Weibdeh is that it has two places for art lovers; Darat al Funun and the Jordan National Gallery for fine arts.

The view of the Citadel from Jabal al Weibdeh for example is beautiful , you can get a nice view of Jabal Amman from Darat al Funun as well.

It's a quite mountain, and you can reach it from down town by "service".

I would recommend Jabal al weibdeh if you like art, or if you are looking for a quite place to eat drink or smoke argileh.

Jabel Al Weibdeh ; an old city of Amman when you can see the old buildings and outlets, Ceramic Musiums, old Churchs and Mosques, enjoy different food including Falafel , Shawermas and others, do not forget to have a water pipe ( ARGELLA) while you are visiting the area, you can start your visit from Place Paris and the French Culture Centre.
