Tucked away in the kitchen of her Abdoun mansion, Nisreen offers one of the most exquisite culinary experience in town.

Mistaka Artisanal Cheese is all made from local fresh milk from real Shepards with no added anything.

Nisreen's passion for cheese is very evident in converting the milk to all kinds of dairy products including Laban, Halloumi, Ricotta and all sorts of fresh and aged cheese of different shapes, textures and sizes sharing one thing in common a great taste.

Every Saturday morning - when milk is in season - Nisreen has an open house in her kitchen where locals and expats gather around a cheese tasting table. The experience comes with live commentary and tips from Nisreen.

Definitely, a great experience for all.

For the first time we went to MISTAKA hoping our dream will come through find cheese (Sheep) matching our French pallet and taste . MISTAKA gave us all this and we could buy cheeses made in Jordan with the taste of France , Roblochon , Valencay , Home made Hallum with perfect taste not salty , Labneh plain or skimmed , fresh yoghourt , tome with peper or plain different textures , Italian Pecorino , crotin and machego etc .
Also clarified butter for cooking etc ... All home made with unbelievable talent we will never buy our cheese the same way we found the supplier we have been looking for for years in Amman . Also Nisreen's talent is not only in cheese making but she can also be a professional dietician , near the Orthodox club in Abdun open from 11am to 2pm , thank you Nisreen .

Gourmet cheeses crafted from sheep's milk is the standard at Mistaka. Nisreen, the proprietor and chief cheese guru, is more than happy to take you through the loving care and process of creating no less than 10 varieties available each weekend ranging from local favorites, halloum and labneh, to European standards...this week I purchased brie, tomme, crottin, and machego. Having enjoyed the artisanal cheese movement in the US, I can say that this is a great boost to Jordan's palate. You can taste before you buy so call ahead and order or on line or better yet, drop in on Saturdays but check the time first.
