Samuel is an excellent guide. We had a group of roughly 57 the entire week and he did a fantastic job keeping everyone engaged, preparing us for our experiences, and handling a steady stream of complex and intelligent questions. This is our second year to do iTrek with Samuel guiding us, and we have loved it both times. Regardless of the size of group, I highly recommend Samuel to anyone who is looking for a fun, engaging, and educational tour in Israel!

Thanks so much for your very kind review. I was delighted to welcome the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies Masters programme for a third successive year (and a second year under your excellent leadership). It's very nice for me to be able to build that kind of relationship and see the trip evolve year on year. I'm really happy that you again felt I was able to keep everyone engaged, and was able to answer the very intelligent questions from the group. I hope to welcome you back for a fourth year in 2021!

We asked Samuel to give students (ages 18-19) a tour of “Jewish Tel Aviv”. He led a fantastic tour that included interesting and unexpected destinations and information about the modern city. Samuel was able to really engage the students through ancient and modern Jewish texts, which helped pieced together a Jewish perspective of Tel Aviv that they had never considered before. Samuel was very generous with his time and hospitality. He has wealth of knowledge and is very good at tailoring the tour to fit the requirements and requests of the group. Additionally he is very responsible, communicative, and will do everything to ensure the tour goes smoothly. Highly recommended!

Thanks so much for your very kind review. It's always fun to do something a bit different from usual and I enjoyed the challenge you set me of exploring the relationship between Tel Aviv and Jewish religion and culture over the past 100 odd years. I'm really happy that you felt that I delivered on the brief - it's very important for me to give people the tour that they want, to adapt to their interests and needs, and not just take something ready off the shelf. It was also fun to get stuck into some of the textual sources past and present! I hope to be able to welcome more of your students in the future.

Samuel is the best guide we have ever used in Israel. He possesses an Incredible combination of knowing the history and knowing all of the best places to eat, the two things we care most about when we visit. We have visited a number of Israeli cities with him and he always finds the right places to help you fully absorb the importance of each city in the context of Israel. Really an invaluable part of our best trips to Israel. Can't wait to use him again.

My wife and I went on an epic 2 day private tour with Samuel around Masada, the Dead Sea, and Jerusalem. This was a true VIP experience and we felt just like the celebrities Samuel is used to guiding around the country. Overall Samuel is such a knowledgeable guide that captivates you with the way he shares the stories. We loved that he provides all different perspectives to open up thoughtful discussions. Below is a summary of our experience, but Samuel customizes his tours and experiences for exactly what you are looking for. We really appreciated this bespoke approach and highly recommend trusting Samuel with leading your Israel experience. He’s the best!

We started from Tel-Aviv with Samuel and our driver, Dror and whose also fantastic, and headed to Masada in a Mercedes van. On the way we learnt a lot around the modern day boarders and politics. The conversation with Samuel made the drive to Masada go by so quick that we almost found ourselves wishing the drive took longer. At Masada Samuel took care of everything to effortlessly get us to the top where we had the most amazing tour and heard all of the different stories that occurred at the site over thousands and thousands of years.

We then headed to Dead Sea where Samuel provided us with all our history and background on the sea. We then spent half a day floating at the sea and having luck at one of the top resorts. After our time at the sea we headed to spend the evening at the Waldorf in Jerusalem.

The next morning we left from the Waldorf lobby and toured around all of the major sites of Jerusalem. Samuel shared so many great perspectives and historical facts that made the trip so rewarding for us. I had been on tours of Jerusalem before, but nothing like this with the insights and perspectives Samuel could share. After about 8 hours in Jerusalem we headed back to Tel-Aviv where Dror dropped us of for dinner and then picked us up to bring us to the airport. What a great experience! Highly recommended.

Thanks so much for your very kind review! I had a fabulous time exploring the desert and Jerusalem with you and really enjoyed getting to know you both. For me, every visitor is a VIP and am delighted that you felt that you got that level of experience. I hope to welcome you back to Israel in the future!

Samuel took me on a private tour of several sites in the north of Israel, on a full-day trip. We visited Yodfat National Park, where he brought the history of the place to life, even bringing with his own copy of Josephus, as we walked around the remains. Then we spent some time at the Monkey Forest animal shelter park, which was a delight. We finished with a look around the prehistoric caves of the Carmel. Everything was explained with great verve and British wit.

Samuel's broad knowledge of Israeli history along with a phenomenal and even-handed grasp of contemporary Israeli culture, politics and society, meant that the time travelling to and between the various stops flew by. I was delighted to also grab an amazing late lunch with him at a place in Hadera he had heard was good for carnivores like me, which was also superb.

I'm happy to recommend him, especially for anyone trying to pack in a lot in a short trip.

Thanks a lot for this very kind review! I really enjoyed going off the beaten path with you in Northern Israel and am delighted that you had such a good time also. I was particularly happy that we were able to adapt our programme based on your feedback to make sure we focused on what you found interesting and also add in an extra stop along the way. I hope to be able to welcome you for more tours in the future.

Sam guided our graduate student group for two days throughout Jerusalem. He was very well prepared and made accommodations on the fly based on our group's interests/needs. He has a rich knowledge base, very personable, and demonstrates an enthusiasm for each student.

I was part of a group of graduate students interested in the complexity of the conflict in the region - many of which who will be future conflict resolution practicioners. Since this was an educational tour, Samuel tailored our experience by not only unpacking the many different layers of the conflict at historical sites but also offering context in the recent developing events and how it is connected to history and law, and the effects on society -- we were impressed by his ability to make all of this digestible. Educational tours are just one of the many Samuel does, and I can't wait to book him for others! :)

Samuel is an incredible storyteller with a sense of humor. He knows his facts very well, makes you feel engaged and is able to give you explanations from all angles without putting his opinion in the way. I truly enjoyed having him as my guide and would highly recommend him for any tour.

Thanks so much for your very kind review! I had a great time exploring Israel with you and am really happy you felt I was able to explain some of the complex political issues here without putting my own opinion in the way - it's difficult but important. I hope to be able to welcome you back here in the future.

Sammy is by far the most knowledgeable person I have come across in this part of the world. There is nothing he doesn't know about Israeli history, politics or culture.

But he doesn't bombard you with information - he makes it accessible and punctuates the educational stuff with humor and often fascinating trivia. As a Brit now living in Israel, he also brings a sense of perspective, and understands how the various aspects of Israeli society and culture might be interpreted or understood by visitors from Europe or the US.

He's also really adaptable and amenable - and always seems willing to tailor things to the client.

Strong recommend!

Thanks so much for this very kind review! It was a challenging brief to cover so many topics in such a short space of time but I very much enjoyed thinking it through with you and making it happen. It was great to meet the group and I'm so happy that you felt I was able to make everything accessible, understandable, and most importantly fun despite our constraints. I hope to be able to greet more of your guests in the future!

Samuel gave a very interesting virtual talk on Israel - covering a variety of places in this diversity and fascinating country. There talk was both enlightening and entertaining, illustrating the many cultures of and stories about Israel, from ancient to modern times. Definitely a great invitation to explore more - and I am sure Samuel would be an excellent guide to those who have the chance to visit physically. In addition to his extensive historical knowledge, he was also able to answer questions such as where to find the best falafel houses in Israel!

Thanks so much for your very kind review! I'm really happy to hear that despite the fact that this was an online experience, I was still able to share some of the range of history and cultures in this land, and that you enjoyed the stories. I had a great time being in "guiding mode" even if this time it wasn't in the field. I remain hopeful that soon I'll be able to welcome you and many others physically back to Israel!
