A great Venue
Sep 2017 • Couples
This renewed hall was designed for great acoustics- not an easy task while taking into consideration the shape of it but the result is great - hence enabling to listen and enjoy the performances there in generally and specifically the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra - one of the great global orchestras

Amazing Venue- Masterful Orchestra
Dec 2016 • Couples
Saw the Israel Philharmonic. The venue made the sound of the orchestra pure and clear. The IPO is itself world class and a real treat to watch and hear. Comfortable seats and easy access bathrooms

Bargain rehearsal is more fun than the real thing
Jul 2016 • Couples
The place was packed solid with a multi-aged audience (not like in the old foggie i.e. expensive subscription series). For only NIS40 we got to see and hear some amazing music by the IPO under the seated Maestro Zubin Mehta and a truly fabulous operatic soprano Chen Reiss. The casually dressed afternoon audience and orchestra was a refreshing change from the stuffy tuxedos. Zubin charmed both the audience and musicians with his unique wit. Also there was some action in the seats when a lady screamed at an old fellow who then slapped her and the old guy's wife slapped the hubby as everyone watched the violence in amazement. A real show stopper. Hint: these bargain tickets get sold out quickly but 2 phone calls a day to the box office often reaps a cancellation or two.

Heichal Hatarbut, also known by the name The "Culture Palace" and "The Charles Bronfman Auditorium", is Tel Aviv's largest concert hall. The hall finished renovation works in 2013 and is currently open to public. We attended an Israel Philharmonic concert and enjoyed it immensely. A few things to consider if you are planning to attend a concert or a play:

1. Parking may be an issue. There is limited parking space in Heichal Hatarbut and due to its central location it spots gets filled quickly in the evening, especially on weekends. If traveling by car on a weekend plan to be 30 minutes early, that way, if parking is full, you still have time to navigate to the nearby Dizengoff Center and park there (10 minutes walk, 20 NIS for weekend parking).

2. Acoustics in the hall are great, thanks to the work of Yasuhisa Toyota. Visibility is very good even from the seats at the far back. Plenty of leg room: As a 1.95m tall person I am used to ending evening in concert halls with my knees aching, but Heichal Hatarbut had no problem accommodating my long legs.

3. Enjoy yourself.

Visit at Heichal Hatarbut

On the 8.5.2014 we heard a performance of the Israeli Philharmonic of the Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations and then Carl Orff Carmina Burana. The hall was packed and the acoustics excellent. Before the performance started we enjoyed the gallery on the ground floor (Aviram Gallery) and the large selection of DVD in the shop Hatav Hashmini.
