About
Urban Culture Tours of Tel Aviv, deciphering street art & graffiti and analyzing Hebrew gems written on our walls. This is not a sightseeing tour, but an urban sociological-linguistic walk. We look at textual graffiti, bumper stickers, even text on manhole covers in order to understand Israeliness.

The tour is a fantastic and amusing way to learn a great deal about one of Tel Aviv's most vibrant neighborhoods.Throughout the tour, he goes on to paint a vivid picture of Florentin by revealing things that seem mundane but that are actually imbedded in history and cultural significance. One of my favorite parts of the tour was when he connected elements of the tour to the Hebrew language and to aspects of Jewish culture. Guy is very knowledgeable and friendly. Most importantly, however, you can tell that he deeply loves what he does and for me that counts a lot. Guy's tour was definitely one of the highs of my stay in Israel!

Guy's tour of the Florentin neighborhood and explanations of the amazing street art is a special experience. Guy not only reveals the wonderful treasures of art, but connects his tour to Hebrew language learning. Our entire family enjoyed the great tour. We visit Tel Aviv on a regular basis and this was a unique tour that introduced us to an entire new aspect of Tel Aviv. I highly recommend touring with Guy.

Guy is an invaluable wellspring of information with a finger placed firmly on the pulse of Israeli society. He does a superb job of providing the cultural, political, and religious context of Florentin's unique street art.

For those who wish to learn about street art in Tel Aviv, nothing beats Guy’s Street Wise Hebrew tour. Guy is a linguist who does a masterful job taking participants through the Florentine District of Tel Aviv

We really enjoy the Street Art tour with Guy in Tel Aviv. He brings a linguists perspective which we weren't expecting and really enjoyed. He knows the subject and artists well and goes far beyond just pointing out interesting pieces. We did this on our first full day and Tel Aviv and it was a fantastic way to get to know the neighborhood in which we were staying. Highly recommended!

Guy is very knowledgeable and led a great tour in which we learned about street art, the rapidly gentrifying Florentin district, and modern Hebrew language and slang. I highly recommend Guy and the tour.

As a fan of Guy's podcast "Streetwise Hebrew," I was excited to do his culture tour of the hip neighborhood of Florentin. Guy was just like in his podcast: caring, humorous, and very informative. He pointed out little works of street art that you would be sure to miss while touring on your own, and through the works explored the language, character, and history of the streets. By the end, you'll feel like a Florentin insider!

there are many tours of Tel Aviv street art. but i can't imagine any compare to Guy Sharett's Street Wise Hebrew. first of all, he is an expert on language and art, as well as a true local. we loved the insights he was able to share regarding the words and images we saw during our tour. second, he knows how important it is to connect with the people on the tour. unlike other groups we saw, which had 30 or 40 people, Guy's group was a manageable size, so it was easy to hear him speak and ask him questions as we walked from place to place. finally, Guy is a delight to be around. our kids (aged 9 and 13) hung on his every word, asking questions and soaking up the stories about the artists, the neighborhood, and the images.
we spent several days in Tel Aviv after the tour and could easily recognize street art by artists Guy had introduced to us. it changes the way you experience the city, what you look for on the walls of buildings and how much more you understand the local culture. even if you are only in town for one day, add this to your to do list!

The tour led by Guy gave a glimpse into the amazing street art of the Florentin district. Bldgs covered in bold colors, hebrew slang, and even transliterated English, lots of fun. Guy was knowledgeable, funny and interesting. Big thumbs up.
