This is a cool street with many boutiques and some cafes. A nice walk but nothing much to write home about, Jaffa is better for roaming in my view.

A few friends complain taht the street is not clean but I think they are missing the point. This is a street filled with clothes boutiques of the artisanl kind. There are many food shops and stalls as well. The feeling is a bit like Portobello road or the Haight Ashbury: a bit hippyish, certainly informal and casual but with a touch of chique. Start at the Rothschild crossing and head downhill towards the sea. Come planning to stop aloong teh way and have something to eat.

It's a street. It has stores on it . There are cars that go by and park. People walk on the street and some look at store windows. Some even go inside the stores. So what's the big deal about this place?

Still the most fun you can have on yom-shishi before sundown. Friendly and Fun Loving people are overflowing from sidewalk to sidewalk.

Oh how I miss the Old Shekin before the Ultra-Religious tried to ruin it.. and they do show up just to attempt to annoy the hard working glue that holds the country together. I miss Kaddem Flowers, Blue Bar, Tika, 3rd Ear, and all the other great places that were driven out.

Interesting street heading down to the beach, with an atmosphere a bit like Bastille in Paris. Cool boutique shops and eateries etc. Very pleasant cafe at number 17.

On our first visit in Tel Aviv, still in 1993 this street was a real shopping paradise. Today it lost its former charme, much less good shop, and even the cofés and restaurants are less.

It is losing the attraction to me. The small interesting shops, cafes, restaurants are either gone or getting more gentrified. More and more high-end condos/apartments are being built. It might be good to have some of the old buildings upgraded but at the same time the local shops and people are leaving... I will be sad to see this street will become a shishi area for the people living in fancy expensive condos/apartments...

Shenkin Street used to be very bohemian and very "happening" but it's currently going through a process where many of the old apartments are being upgraded to million dollar places. In the meantime, some of the eateries have closed down (including Orna and Ella) and a lot of the shops are empty or don't have much to offer. The best part is the half nearer to Allenby where there are still a few cafes and shops. Quite frankly, not much to see which is a shame compared to how it used to be. Let's see if things improve when the millionaires move in.

We walked at night along Sheinkib street and enjoyed the lighting left there since December which add to the loveliness of the street. The street is in the heart of the center of Tel Aviv with many attractions near bye
