I attempted to sign up for a Trafalgar tour about a week ago. I responded at least 4 times to one of their ads for "a quote" but no one appeared to read the emails or respond. Since this was a "last-minute deal" I finally decided to call. The person who answered the phone resisted the idea of making the reservation, wanting me to wait for them to return my call. Finally, she said I could request a spot if I paid 30% down immediately. I reluctantly agreed. The following day, I received an email (sent at 11:51 PM) saying that the full price was due the day before and they had the right to cancel my request and keep the money. This did not go over well so I began sending emails requesting legal action. Today, I got an email indicating that refund was possible. Did I want one? This is called "bait and switch" when you offer one item then change the options mid-stream.

We just completed the Italian Bellissimo trip with Trafalgar. I think the company should include a very BIG caveat that people should be very healthy and athletic to participate in this trip. It was completely exhausting with miles of walking and up hill travel. Hotels were mediocre. They crammed so much in a day yet other days were completely spent crammed up in a coach driving for hours. No provided water.

so i booked once in a lifetime trip from my wife and I. paid in full ready to go-family crisis hit-we had to take custody of abused 9yr girl from drug home. Contacted Trafalagr to cancel/reschedule trip- the 2nd operator gave me only the option to cancel and pay cancellation fee., Didn't know it would be the complete amount of the trip...we lost it all. Thanks, Trafalgar, for turning a lifetime trip into a nightmare. unbelievable they can get away with this and i am wondering is this just done to ALL American's?

The tour included the cities of Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans. There was also an overnight stop in Natchez. We stayed in great hotels with the exception of the one in Natchez. I would rate that hotel a 2 star. All of the included tours were amazing and are highly rated. The itinerary is appropriately and nicely paced. The activity level was about a 2 out of 5.

The tour director, Ann, was very pleasant, thorough, considerate, timely, attentive to each passenger, very organized, informative and has a great sense of humor. She provided treat/snacks, played songs on the bus that related to the place we were visiting. She also wore clothing that would match the theme of the place we were visiting. I am an African American and was very pleased that she provided so much information on civil rights. I also enjoyed that there was so much information and included tours that applied to African Americans in a way that did not make me feel awkward especially being on a tour which was majority white. However, we did make a stop at the Frogmoore Plantatation in Natchez. It was an awkward visit for me because I dont feel that there should be a plantation currently in business and making money from a place that had slaves. They are still a producer of cotton and that should be the only thing highlighted on their tours.

We rode on a coach bus from Nashville to New Orleans. We
stopped every two hours for a comfort break. The break's locations were no where near as nice as they are in Europe. They
consisted of mostly rest stops and information centers. Only once
did we stop at a gas station which was because the original rest
stop was closed but it ended up being one of the best stops
that we made. Everyone was able to purchase snacks, coffee and
other drinks. The coach was comfortable with nice wide windows
for viewing, tv monitors, wifi and USB plugins. The bus driver was excellent and was able to get us from point A to point B in a safe and timely manner.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would refer everyone to try it.

IMPERIAL EUROPE

DON’T DO IT!

From the moment you book, SCAM. This tour is all about being herded around like sheep. Tour guide Arne Schmidt is disrespectful, lacks basic logistic knowledge and will benefit from a huge quota of cultural immersion training.

Accommodations, far away from city centre to keep costs low. There is no time for picture taking, they throw information at you with outdated audiovox sets. Everything is shoveled down your throat for commission, smoke and mirrors. Food is terrible, in spite of countless amazing places to eat, the 1-2 daily meals Trafalgar offers are the worst.

As other travelers have mentioned, if you do decide to take a risk and experience Trafalgar, keep the optional experiences to a minimum, and don’t expect much if any.

It was with Trafalgar Tours and we had a terrible Tours operator, Bryan Smith. Because of this poor tour operator who did not listen I got some medical problems, including a bad hip and now have to get x-rays and physical therapy. He was a terrible tour operator and would not listen to me or anyone else he gave no eye contact he gave no contact. He never even introduced himself. He was the worst.get rid of him

DO NOT EVER book with this agency, especially if no one tells you its guaranteed. These low life just ruined our summer trip to France. We had a very limited window, pay in full, book air etc. and they cancel our trip for July just now. Lost air, train tickets etc. They do NOT care about your booking, if they don't have profit they cancel.. 2 months before the trip date!!!!!!

I will NEVER book with them again. We booked Italy last year, and the hotels were so so at best, and way away from ANY sight seeing, walking distance. Again about cheap hotels so they save money away from ALL city centers when they can book them. And now i am scrambling with a refund to take my wife somewhere, oh wait not France, !!!! Do not trust over seas travel agencies!!! Do NOT trust Trafalger!!!!!!

Please do not book a Trafalgar tour. I have been on many cruises with their sister company, Uniworld and they were great, so I expected the same from Trafalgar.

1. Arrive at Tel Aviv airport and tried to find the driver to get me to Jerusalem to the start the tour. Followed the instructions and could not find guide. Called the # provided and was told they would call me back, as there was a 2 hour wait. That is absurd. They arrange the flights and should have staffed up. They NEVER called me back. Kept walking around the airport asking people if they knew where Trafalgar was. Finally a man came over and said he was with Trafalgar. I asked him where his sign was and was t9ld, he did not hold it up.

2. There was a solo , 80 yr old male traveler who had to go to the hospital.
He had no way to contact our guide, who did not bother to give us her contact information. He checked out and the hotel contacted Trafalgar the next day.
A taxi driver had to translate for this man. The traveler had to wait on a gurney for over 8 hours . No one from Trafalgar bothered to go to the hospital to make sure he was all right.. we kept asking our tour guide (who was an independent contractor) for updates and she could not provide any. Thank goodness he came back to the tour 2 days later.

3. After touring Caesare and walking back to the bus, the bus left me behind.
It was the end of the day and there was only one bus left at the site. Again I tried calling all the #.s and there was no answer. Why isn’t there a 24 hour # to call?
The people on the bus told me the guide told the driver to start driving before she finished her count. Since she lives in Tel Aviv, it appears she was in a hurry to get
Home. Thank goodness the remaining bus gave me a lift to Tel Aviv.
( by the way, the bus did wait for other late passengers during the tour)

Also thank goodness that the other passengers saw my luggage rolling down the street and retrieved it. The next day, the tour guide did not offer an apology, she just asked if all my luggage got in the room, which it did.
Later that day she told me it was another passengers fault that she missed me. It seems that she counted this man twice. Again no apology.

There was a couple on the tour that said I should not give up on Trafalgar, and they said it was Etta’s (our tour guide) fault. They continued onto Jordan with a Trafalgar Guide and said everything was good.

Etta, our guide was very knowledgeable. Maybe she should just stick to day trips around Israel so she can be home every night.

I reported all this in the survey Trafalgar sent out….NO reply.
The couple that vouched for them so vehemently also had several emails going back and forth to customer relations and no reply. I sent an email to my travel agent and she is still waiting to hear from them. The fact that no local #s were given, no emergency numbers provided , is disconcerting

I suppose Trafalgar figures that one unhappy customer is not that big a deal.
So I am just going to keep telling everyone I know NOT to use them.
