I highly recommend you do NOT book with this company. I planned a trip with Shalom Israel Tours and paid a $3,000 deposit for Bar-Mitzvah trip this past summer. In March, 3 1/2 months before the trip and before the company had paid any non-refundable deposits on our behalf, I contacted Shalom to cancel due to the Coronavirus. Aside from travel restrictions, people in our family who planned to attend are immunocompromised. I explained this to Shalom, but he showed no sympathy whatsoever and only offered for us to use the credits on a future trip. Well, boys are only Bar-Mitzvah age once in their life, so this was not practical. Even after he had offered to refund us after changing our guide a few weeks prior, he was now adamant not to do so. So essentially he had ZERO costs, pocketed the $3,000, and now won't even return emails. I see a number of positive reviews on TripAdvisor. It's easy to please customers when everything is rosy in life. But you learn a lot about people in the difficult times. And this company failed miserably.

We had planned our trip to Israel with Shalom, giving them our non-refundable deposit of $1,000. Then came the Coronavirus, which has affected the entire travel industry. We contacted Shalom to get out deposit back, as they could not follow through, and provide the trip. They said we could go next year. Well, my husband is in his 80’s, so we don’t plan a year out. Technically the refund was non-refundable, but morally, they should have returned the money. It was not our fault the trip was canceled. It speaks volumes on the kind of people they are.

We took the Jewish Heritage Tour and it was wonderful. We saw so many fascinating sites and our guide Yossi Galen was the best. He was very knowledgeable about the sights, recommended great restaurants, and made the trip more fun. I would highly recommend this trip.

I recently returned from a marvelous Jewish Heritage Tour of Israel. I'm thrilled to have had such a wonderful, engaging experience with SHALOM TOURS. Our tour guide, JACKY MAAYAN, was so knowledgeable and thorough. His enthusiasm and love of Israel was apparent in the emotion he showed. Having been in Israel 31 years ago, this was my dream to return, and it truly was a trip of a lifetime. We added the Eilat extension, and visited Petra, Jordan as well. I highly recommend Shalom Tours to anyone planning on going to Israel.
