Another amazing trip, booked via our operator, beats any UK market. Beautiful fresh selection of food and spices.
Not expensive and some wonderful unusual finds. Wish we could take it all home with us.

Excellent food. Great view. Good service. Reservations are needed. The place is always packed. Try salmon tartare for appetizer

This is a small and pricey market with only a few stalls with ordinary fruits, vegetables and seafood.

Nice little market with great food stands-
Best for me is the herring baguette stand that maker amazing delicious sandwiches- try the herring but if herring isn't your thing they also have salmon, tuna, anchovies or sardines. Have a shot of vodka with it to cheer or a local brewed beer from the next door stand or even go healthy all the way with a variety of juices from the front stand.
Eat sitting at the boardwalk and enjoy the moment! L'chaim!!

Its been years I didn't visit, and as a fan of markets this one is definitely in my top 5. It has a crazy mix of accessories, fruit & vegetables, and great food stands. All pretty cheap, given the fact that in Israel EVRYTHING's expensive. Icluding the small cafes nearby the market's exits - beware of those, they're super pricey. Loves walking around, looking what's new and buy things I don't necessarily need.

Tip: near closing time vegies & fruit prices drop even more!

Enjoy :)

In the past, markets in Israel were strictly meant for the average person, to give them a large variety of food at low prices. In the 2000s however, some (especially in tourist areas) began to offer more high-end products, the markets themselves actually got new designs, specialty shops began to appear, etc. The Port Market (Shuk HaNamel) is one of the few, and one of the first, food markets to be initially aimed at higher-end buyers.

The great thing about this market is that there is a huge variety of specialty foods in one place. It's not big, but very tightly packed, and resembles many food markets in Europe. It's very clean (at least for now) and definitely worth a visit if you're in the port are (you should go there at least once). It is also one of the few places in Israel (maybe the only one in Tel Aviv) that regularly sells blueberries.

The problem though is that, as I said in the beginning, it's not aimed at the average Israeli public. Stuff here costs twice as much (my estimate) as in other food markets in Israel. If you actually want to buy something here, you'll often be saying how many fruits you want, measured in units (as opposed to KG like in most Israeli markets). In the end you'll walk away with very little. I suppose this is how it works in Europe anyway, but this is one part of Europe I'd rather see less in Israel.

This is a rather posh market, which is both small, cramped and expensive.
While the products look absolutely wonderful with vibrant colors and freshness, the place isn't a destination on its own and could be visited for a couple of minutes only if you're in the area.

The place within the Food Market is called simply Italian Food, local cuisine. I wish I had a more precise name. "Italki Mekomi" in Hebrew.

I don't how they get that perfection, but I was told one of the secrets is the best olive oil. The greens, the grapes, the tomato, the mozzarella, the fish: best of the best.

Large variety of great food and drinks, for kids and adults, with the view of the Mediterranean. Many vegetarian options.
