We had a fabulous food tour with Delicious Israel. Our guide Talia was amazing and was able to combine insights into the history, culture, and the Israeli people and the foods that define them, with a special focus on Tel Aviv. With interesting commentary and a pleasant approach she was able to engage our entire family of seven - ranging in age from 7 to 70- which is not easy. Highly recommend this as a delightful and tasty way to learn about the city and it’s people while savoring a wide assortment of dishes.

We can’t say enough great things about the Levinsky Market tour we were privileged to take (our picky first grader loved it, too!). Despite the logistical challenges surrounding the Coronavirus, Delicious Israel was committed to making our tour happen as planned, a true testament to their impeccable level of customer service. We were lucky enough to have two incredibly knowledgeable, warm and passionate guides – Ari and Lainie, who were able to tailor the tour to our interests and background for a memorable, delicious experience and who, by the end of the tour, felt more like our close friends than guides that we had only met on the tour. Throughout our well-thought-out tour, Lainie and Ari kept surprising us with their many insights into the history and background of each stop as well as the market in general. Even though we are fellow Israelis with strong knowledge of the Israeli food scene, we kept learning many new interesting things! We would absolutely recommend this tour to tourists and locals alike and are looking forward to trying Delicious Israel’s other tours in the future.

Thank you so much for this glowing review! It was our true pleasure to share the Levinsky Market with you, and we are thrilled we were able to expand your knowledge of and familiarity with Israeli cuisine even as locals. We hope we will have the chance to host you again in the future!

It was so much fun touring the Levinsky neighborhood with Ruthie. I have visited Tel Aviv often but hadn't discovered this gem of a neighborhood.
Ruthie was most knowledgeable and she has a great rapport with the store proprietors. I felt like a received a "good deal" when both sampling foods and purchasing some to bring home. The spices, halavah and other non perishable items made great gifts to bring back home. The gifts were most enjoyed by all.
Rather than going out to a restaurant when in Tel Aviv, go out with Ruthie on a food tour and enjoy the variety of flavors, tasty foods, spices, unique drinks and sweets.
It's a tour you need to do more than once since there so many good places to eat and visit!! It would be fun with a small group too.

It is always so special when seasoned visitors to Israel are able to have new and enjoyable experiences - especially when feeling welcomed by the vendors to be able to bring some delicious memories home to share with family and friends!

My husband, adult niece, and I took the 4-hour market tour of Carmel and Levinsky markets. We met our guide Lainie and were immediately enveloped in her welcoming and energetic presence. Our group included another couple, so was a good small group to navigate the markets. There were 11 tastings and included juices, three different types of delicious hummus, an unusual pancake that was like a pan fried crumpet (tasty), pickled tastings including stuffed hibiscus flower (so good), arayes (meat stuffed bread that is pan fried), preserved fish, a fabulous fruit and herb drink, and many desserts.

All the food was of very high quality, with many the best of the food we have had in Israel. We were very full.by the end of the tour and we really tried to pace ourselves and did not finish all the tastings. We would not have found these places on our own.

Best of all was Lainie, who is so knowlegeable and warm in sharing her love of the food and the country. The tour was well organized and Lanie was warmly welcomed by all the stalls and shops - and we were as well, by extension. We would recommend this tour as a wonderful way to get to really know these markets, especially Levinsky market.

I personally believe the best way to learn about its city is through its food. Delicious Israel has this down pat.

Nikki (with Ari shadowing) was our guide. I loved her bubbly and positive attitude. She answered all of our impromptu questions and was clearly very knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhoods, food, and culture. It's best to do a food tour with a 100% foodie at the helm! Ari was really great too. He knows so much about Tel Aviv and was very friendly.

The tour was absolutely belly busting. They don't play with small portions here. I hate to say it but we left some uneaten food on the table at certain places, not because we didn't love it, but because we just could not fit it down.

You will NOT be hungry after this trip. We tried all the essentials and Nikki even caterered the stops to our preferences (we said we did not like olives so she avoided these). We tried the essentials like hummus and shawarma but also plenty more incredible dishes/spots that you might only really know about if you were being led by Nikki and Ari.

This was an excellent tour, full of delicious food and interesting tidbits about its original, history and the local purveyors offering it up. The guide was a cuisinary chameleon, adapting to not only the heavy rain by ducking under awnings and tucking the group into kiosks but also by catering to our groups individual preferences and answering a wide array of tricky gastronomic questions. Loved it!

My friends and I booked the food tour in shuk hacarmel and we had Talia take us on the tour. What can I say, this was one of the best days of the trip!!! - I have been to Israel a few times before but this was the first food tour I've done - Talia was a brilliant guide, so knowledgeable about the food, had fantastic stories to share about the origins of the dishes and ingredients and also restaurant recommendations in the area which we used for the rest of the holiday. Yum!! Thank you Talia for a great day! Was so stuffed by the end. Definitely recommend.

We toured the Carmel Market with Nikki and had nothing short of an incredible experience!!! She was so engaging and knowledgeable and her passion and love for Israeli cuisine shown through in everything she spoke about. She began the tour explaining how her relationship with Israel was “love at first bite!” We absolutely loved how she showed us some of those special “hidden gems” within and surrounding the market. We had over 7 different sweet and savoury tastings that were very generous in size - she always offered us more!! We got to try some favourite items, like hummus, but in a new and unique way. We tasted sabich, malabi, hummus, Rugelach, lachim, fresh strawberries, spices, Rugelach, bourekas, and more! I’ve been to Israel several times but this was something unique to do and learn a different side of the food scene in the Yemenite area. Highly recommend!!!!

Informative, tasty and fun group tour of Levinsky Market. There were approx 10 in the group; nice to meet new people with food interests. Chaya, our guide, was a joy. She is passionate about food and it came through in her sharing of information. Her picks were spectacular and I think we got a great food experience - savory & sweet! It was a wonderful and super enjoyable couple of hours.

My friend and I are traveling chefs from the United States and we were BLOWN AWAY By Lainie’s charisma, knowledge, sorry telling and descriptions of all things Tel Aviv and Israel food! She was out standing and so much fun! Her parents should be very proud!! Delicious Israel tour is the best way to experience every little thing you might miss while here... and in a great 4 hour, half day timeline. We got to know the neighborhoods and the best people to go to when returning to the markets to shop! Thank you, Delicious Israel! I highly recommend!!
