Unforgettable! If you enjoy meeting new people and sharing cultural experiences, I highly recommend this dining experience. My friend and I (both non-Jewish) were hosted by a couple and their adult daughter last month. Thank you, Liat and Gidon, for enlightening conversation and a wonderfully delicious dinner. We had so much to eat—so many courses, each obviously made with love and care! Then, Gidon even drove us back to our hotel, giving up what I think was a prized parking space. Food truly does bring us together!

It was my first time in Israel and I thought I would give it go to meet local people and hopefully making friends for life! It start off visiting the couples house as I had bought them some gifts. We then went to the synagogue which was a great experience. Made are way back other people joined, we did some songs, wine and the bread. We all sat down started sharing each other culture experiences. Food was amazing and so much of it! But it came across like one of the host felt uncomfortable, didn't really want to be there and couldn't wait for me to leave. I thought this experience was to find out about other people cultures and as I quote 'Creating True Friends' which I don't think will happen. Maybe I said something wrong? Or I just didn't match with the right couple? Overall this was quite upsetting.

To understand a different culture you have to taste it! Thanks to Betzavta Experience we were lucky to feel more like travellers and less like tourists in Jerusalem. Sharing a meal with Chaitze and Asaf meant sharing thoughts, laughs and positive energy! Everything was just perfect! The food was delicious and it felt like home. We’ve exchanged not only culinary tastes but, first and foremost, mutual understanding and friendshipJ. Chaitze and Asaf: thank you very much for the warm welcome and do not forget to visit us in Wroclaw! Monika and Danuta from Poland

Thanks a lot for the nice evening we had with the family. We ate the typical food of Shabbat and they show us the traditions. They were a family with 5 children and they singed for us! It was so nice! We learnt a lot about the culture and we really enjoy the time together! Thanks for all!

Thanks for a second great experience with Betzavta. I can’t think of a more hopeful and positive message than people connecting like this. A couple of years ago I was introduced thru Betzavta to Esti and Dudi, and when I returned this winter to Israel got back in touch and we spent a wonderful New Years together and resumed our friendship. I was so touched by their generosity and kindness. Then I was meeting up with my daughter following her Taglit (Birthright) trip and contacted Niv again, who connected us with a lovely family with daughters close in age to mine. The mother cooked Morrocan food, so plentiful and delicious and the backgrounds of the family members were interesting and unique, from middle eastern to English to South American. So many diverse cultures in Israel to learn from and experience! Niv was patient with a couple of changes and communications superb. Highly recommend!
