The center of the Yeminite immigrants to Tel Aviv, the houses are small and crowded together. Between the Carmel Market and next to the beach, this is the place to taste the simple but delicious Yeminite cuisine.

Old and unique part of central tel aviv, right off the Carmel Market Full of good, cheap traditional restaurants, excellent Yemenite food and more recently - some upscale pubs and bars well worth the visit

Just parallel to the Carmel market, Shouk Ha'Carmel, lies an old neighborhood going through the first phases of gentrification. The streets adjacent to the Market host a lot of butcheries, not for eh faint of heart, but behind these there are some small cafe, and very good Yemenite food restaurants and humus places. Where to sit? just walk around and... More

The place is really charming and unique but the garbage from the market attracts rats at night which makes it problematic for a night walk.

The “show” moved to other and more attractive neighborhood in Tel Aviv. Nothing exciting. It isn’t the same as 30-50 years ago. Spend your time better, Tel Aviv is big.

Looks like a dumpy area if you don't look..Cute little restaurants appear out of nowhere, small alleys lead to the market. New apts popping up. Go on a Friday for a Syrian lunch, Ethiopian Injera or a plate of humus. See the young and hip. Yemenite food and good ambience.

If you like places with different streets and buildings, this quarter is best in Tel Aviv. Nice restaurants and evening atmosphere.
