Ashdod Shore Excursion: Private Jerusalem and Dead Sea Day Trip

3 reviews
Come ashore at Ashdod for a private, full-day excursion to Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, and experience Israel’s most historic, holy sites. Take in sweeping views of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, then leave a folded prayer in the Western Wall; walk the Christian, Armenian and Muslim quarters of the Old City and browse vibrant, open-air bazaars. Leave the city for the Dead Sea and stroll salt-encrusted beaches, roll in mineral-rich, therapeutic mud and float in some of the world’s saltiest water before returning to your ship in Ashdod.

We were welcomed into The Ring by Bob and Hanna Faber, a Jerusalem couple who took time and patience to show us some of their jewelry. They answered our questions with honesty and were always attentive.

We bought our wedding rings online with the intent of picking them up at the store when we arrived in Jerusalem. I picked up the rings from the store and also met the owners, Bob and Hannah. The rings were beautiful and Bob and Hannah were very nice. After returning to the states we looked at the rings again and they were a little small and my wife decided she wanted a diamond set in it. I contacted Bob and he said no problem, send them to him and he will make the changes. The rings are even better than before. If you are going to Jerusalem, plan to visit The Ring. I give Bob and Hannah and The Ring my highest recommendation. Douglas & Deborah 2018

This is a small jewelry store not far from Mamilla Mall that we came across accidentally. The selection is excellent--we bought a necklace--and the prices good. Bob and Hannah Faber are the owners, a very friendly couple, who were eager to answer our questions about Jerusalem. Bob is originally from the US but has lived in Israel for many years and Hannah is a native Israeli. I definitely recommend this store if you're looking for interesting and reasonably priced jewelry.

I found it hard to believe that this store is not on TripAdvisor yet! This tiny jewelry store is owned by an American. He does all the work himself. My entire family has gotten their engagement and wedding rings here. Plenty of unique Bat Mitzvah stuff, too. Nothing too ornate--I would say tasteful. He does amazing custom work, too. His store caters mostly to Jews and Christians, but he has plenty of stuff for the secular traveler, too, like doves, pomegranates, geometric shapes and small wearable maps of Israel. He even has what one would call ordinary jewelry--this last visit my sisters and I got commemorative matching silver and blue rings. His store is right next to the last trolley stop before the Old City. The door is yellow. You can't miss it, and it is not to be missed!
