This is an interesting attraction and, surely, completely different to the ones in this "holy land." The cave is really beautiful, and, simply experiencing going deeply down and being under the old city is pretty awesome. Visitors may like visiting this to experience something a...More

Having been to Israel a number of times; we were looking for something new to explore. This definitely surprised us. The size and location of the cave is what really captivated us. We also enjoyed being able to take our time and explore without the...More

Large deep man made caves possibly used to build the second temple. If you like caves it is pretty much just seeing a giant hole and some tunnels. It is a lot bigger than I expected though and took maybe 20 to 30 to walk...More

The entrance to this quarry is about, 100m east of Damascus Gate. This is an enormous cave (quarry) that stretches far under the Moslem quarter of the Old City. There is little to see and the attraction is its enormity. But tonight was different because,...More

Close to Damascus Gate (about 100 feet to the east along the Old City wall), the cave was apparently a quarry during the Roman era. Few obvious signs of antiquity. It's interesting that water drips into the cave even during the dry season. The site...More

Visited this attraction on the way to the Garden Tomb. The caves extend a long way under the ground and are very interesting. Plenty of great photo opportunities.

Located under the Muslim Quarter, accessed from outside of the Old City near Damascus gate. A downward sloped path. Wear sturdy shoes. It can be slippery in spots. Respite from the sun. It was fun to explore. Detailed English brochure was provided at the ticket...More

I was just amazed at this place. It made my mind work overtime just to figure out how did King Solomon and his workers cut and removed the stone from this cave to built the 1st Temple. A must see for everyone

Probably your best bet is the enormous parking lot beside/behind the Palestinian Pottery shop on Nablus Rd. opposite the Legacy Hotel. It is about a 5-7 minute walk from the parking lot to the cave straight down (walking... More
