Relatively expensive price for the value, and on top of everything else they charge an extra fee. To fish: a zoo map for an extra fee?! Overpriced popsicles. When you come with a big family it is significant. Kindergarten is very tiring. There are not enough benches. Kindergarten staff is very rude. Until you get to a cage there is no animal there or it is sleeping... in short it was very frustrating and disappointing. Not going back there

We saw an advertisement on TV about the new animal, the Exlotle.
We were in the garden today (Saturday) and we were looking for the animal. We couldn't find her either and none of the employees there knew what we wanted. They had no idea that such an animal existed in the world. Certainly not in the garden. Then we moved to the aquarium and the butterfly complex. On the door was a sign 'temporarily a minority of butterflies in the complex'. I counted five (!) butterflies. One lineman who clung to the roof and tried to escape.
We returned very disappointed from the visit.

Fantastic zoo. Huge. Interesting. So many animals. The recommendation for a 2-3 hours visit is a joke - you can spend them an entire day easily and still not see everything. An absolute must. Ticket prices are very expensive but well, you are in Israel, everything is.

This place needs to get its act together it has not changed in years. Staff that work here are lazy and untidy. A gift shop run by Arabs that are rude and refuse to speak Hebrew. It has to be the worst gift shop ever. It’s definitely needs new management ASAP

We recently visited the zoo. Admittedly it was January so that may have impacted some of the animals, but I was not overly impressed. Just not a lot to see. Still not sure I understand why it is called a biblical zoo. The petting zoo part was pretty good.

PROS
* Nice big zoo emphasizing animals of the Bible
* Spacious and greenery- barely ever crowded
* Activities for children
* Little children's train
* Nice merger of Jewish and Arab Israelis working and visiting together

CONS
* It is big and uphill
* It is costly- 54 ILS for anyone over age 2
* Parking is barely adequate on a busy day, and can be haphazard- some of the parking requires a longer walk over a bridge over the Israel Railways track, and that's not necessarily easy for parents and grandparents with prams and push chairs.

"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... when I took four young boys, ages 9, 6, 5 and 2 for a Friday afternoon. We saw the monkeys, the penguins and elephants and other stuff. The boys wanted to ride the silly little train, so that's what we did. That was an extra charge and any organized queue was non existent

WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Not really- I wouldn't care to necessarily pay again.

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Not really, unless i was escorting young ones again

ADVICE
* It's a good zoo with stuff to see and big dusty play areas and climbing stuff
* It's big and uphill
* It's costly
* Parking is not easy

Although the actual zoo is pretty nice, the staff was atrocious. I was discriminated against and refused the discount i deserved because the "Manager" discontinued the "Student discount" (for my group) on the spot. You'd think a student Visa would suffice for proof thats we're students... Anyways their price per Standard Adult is 58nis not 40 like i saw on their website a week before coming...

When our grandchildren are visiting us, we often take them to this great zoo. I prefer to start at the end of the zoo, i.e. walking in the direction of Noah's ark. By the time we get there, the children are tired of walking and it is time to stop for a snack or cold drink/popsicle. Then you can board the park's train for free and ride back to the center of the zoo where you can either continue to visit the rest of what's left or go back to the parking lot/bus stop.

We spent a very enjoyable few hours here with two of our children - of very different ages. And everyone had a great time. The animals seem well cared for and have plenty of space in which to move around, which is important to us. When we were there it was just starting to get hot in Israel and despite good shady areas for the animals we did wonder how those with thicker fur coped in the heat. But as an attraction - we really enjoyed it.

I've been taking my three years old son every half a year or so since his first birthday. Always a lot of fun. It has a great playground, a petting area where you can pet the goats. One of the best things is the cage of the suricatas, it has with tunnels the children can get into them and look at the cage from the inside.
