What can I say, this place is already well known and one not to miss when you visit the Holy Land. We did the station of the cross and took a shortcut at station number 7 (elderly's were getting tired) straight to the place which...More

This is arguably the center of the Christian faith. It is a remarkable place. Filled with stunning religious artworks.

Before you visit this fine Church research how much restoration work is being done. This was a very crowded attraction and with the amount of works being done to the inside of the building it was actually quite difficult to see any thing of note....More

It seems to me that the religiosity of this place is exactly what Jesus spoke out against. One gets a very distinct feeling of a holier-than-thou attitude from the various priests ministering in this place. People praying over, crying and kissing a stone purportedly the...More

Much of the confusing, complex tapestry of Christianity in the Holy land will be viewed up close in this amazing site. I recommend some variation of the Abraham Tours but there are many worthy ways to tour it.

This a must do for anyone who is in any way religious. It is a truly spiritual experience and it is humbling to see the devotion shown by some of the pilgrims who visit the church.

What a blessed feeling we had in this sacred place...Words cannot express it...The place of cross, the place he was laid and wrapped in linen and finally laid in the sepulchre...It has sk]haken our hearts and tears roll automatically.

Hot, tight, noisy setting with lots of tourists. Glad I saw it, don't need to do it again. Read up on it beforehand. The battles between the different denominations is interesting.

Nothing similar to what we have in Europe except the walls. decoration inside is totally different. And what surprise me the most is the Three level of church that has been rebuild the one over the other

I don't think you can stay in the church itself. There is plenty of accommodation around there although I suggest staying outside the old city.
