It's the ultimate suburban middle class unholy consumer oriented experience brought to the gates of the holy city. Why venture into the old dark alleys of the Souk for levantine hummus if you can have Italian in Mamilla?

This is a very strategically placed and very exclusive and upscale outdoor shopping “mall” of high class “name brand” stores.

It’s tourism value is in showing how Israelis shop and spend leisure time.

Please note the seamless public merging of Jews and Arabs intermingling or politely keeping their distance.

I have supplied photos of the underground parking garage for your benefit and enjoyment and pleasure: no longer will you have to worry and wonder how it looks on an underground parking garage in the Holy City of Jerusalem. I hope that you find that “helpful.”

Yes- it’s bright and shiny and all that.

It’s filled with high-end brand chain stores with bright lights and alluring posters and sales (“ba chayaii,” as it is said in Hebrew). I, for one, would never come to shop here (except for the Nespresso store).

It’s usually quite full of shoppers and strolling people. Thus time, the majority are Israeli Jews, but a significant amount of native Arabic speakers too. Is a peaceful and very non confrontational atmosphere. There used to be tourists too- before the Corona lockdown.

Please read my multiple part reviews.

Anyway, it’s not to interesting to me, and I would never come here as the destination per se- this is a place to use to get somewhere else- such as the adjacent Old City.

Most of the time- as per this visit- we are here in order to eat at Cafe Rimon after participating in a religious event at the Western Wall.

As you can see by my sole photo, if you have the misfortune to drive here, remember where you parked.

Hey- I invest time, effort and thought in giving a thorough review of this (and all my other reviews) and I do hope that they help you. So do my a favor and push the “helpful” button.

Everything that I wrote here is true, because—
“I visited this place.”

I always prefer open air malls, the natural light and the open air make for a better shopping experience.

There is a good mix of local and international brands, mid-high end shops. Some good deals can be found.

The mall is full of art and really gives you a unique Jerusalem experience.

We passed this open-air mall on our first night in Jerusalem when we visited the Old city from our hotel. There are a lot of nice high-end shops and restaurants to see. This is as modern Jerusalem as it gets which is in sharp contrast to the biblical city, we all know just a few meters away.

Clothing stores, restaurants, and jewelry stores. All worthwhile stops.

The mall runs from King David Street near the Citadel Hotel towards the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City. Even without stepping into the stores, it’s a nice place to stroll.

We stayed in an apartment located opposite Mamilla Mall. This is a very nice, upscale shopping area that is located right next to Jaffa Gate. We would pass through it whenever we walked from our place to the Old City. It was very convenient to have the option to walk through Mamilla rather than along the sidewalk because it offered a covered walkway. There are cafes to grab coffee and food. One evening we walked over to get gelato. The mall offers a mixture of clothing and gift shops. Some of the stores are ones that we have back in the USA (e.g., Zara, Nike, so I wasn't as interested in those.
