My husband and I have booked "Dual Narrative tour of Hebron" and we enjoyed it. The guides were both very good but if Mohamed's English was easy to understand, Eliyahu spoke too fast and we missed most of the information. I think he should speak...More

A trip during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Holidays (16 Replies)
Hi again everyone! Really need your advice again. Me and a friend of mine are planning a trip to Israel in September 2014. We are planing our arrival on around 24th of September and will be staying till around 6th of October. So, the beginning and the end of the trip - are the 2 most important Holidays. The question is - in between these days how does the life in Israel looks? Will the public transport run as usual? Will the tourist sites be open as usual? Also, will we be able to use some...More

Dear Julia, Concerning Public Transportation, there is no Public Transportation on Holidays and Saterdays. There are taxies and Shruts, which are shared taxis. However many tourist attractions such as National Parks and museums are open, besides those runing in the jewish quarter in Jerusalem. (The western wall is always open 24-7 365) The only day you will fel a totaly diffeeent atmosphere is Yom Kipur, this year on the 4th of October when all close down and there is no buisnes at all in...More

Someone else here want to tour the Sea of Galilee on Oct 15? (15 Replies)
I have been trying to find a way to tour the Sea of Galilee on Oct. 15 from Nazareth. - The Abraham Tours tour is not available on that day. It doesn't seem like there are other tours to the Sea of Galilee from Nazareth. - I don't want to rent a car. - I would have liked to use public transportation but it looks like it's not going to all the interesting places. - I don't have the budget to hire a private driver (since I'm travelling solo). So I'm just asking if some other...More

So - from Nazareth to galilea (and Golan) we traveled first to TA and from there with group to north. at the evenings it was vice versa. Hope it goes same this year too, because we will come in october again, and hoping to use same service. Actually - we are at the same time in NI, but we will...More

Jerusalem - Masada/Ein Gedi by bus (3 Replies)
Hi, I'll be in Israel the first two weeks of November and I am traveling alone (on a budget). I would like to do a day trip to Masada/Ein Gedi from Jerusalem. I was looking into the tour offered by Abraham Tours, but I think I would like to do it on my own, because I don't want to have my time limited at the stops. I understood there are Egged busses from Jerusalem. Is it ok to go from Jerusalem to Masada by bus, spend time in Masada, take a bus to Ein Gedi, hike a little bit, and go back...More

It can be done but you'll have to wait for the bus on the main road and walk from the sites to the bus stations. Buses are not frequent. In November it gets dark early. I suggest taking the tour, it will be more comfortable.
