Etai was great. we had 3 young children and weren't sure they'd last more than 20 minutes on a group tour before getting bored and hungry, but we wanted to see Jerusalem, and for them to experience something too. Before, I thought we would make it half way through at most He managed to keep them engaged right to the very end and impart knowledge to the adults at the same time. I would have loved to have made it a full day or two to see so much more of Jerusalem, but we will remember the half day for a long time. It was well worth skipping school for.
Thanks, Evalyn Dylan Arnold Beth and Matthew

I contacted Zel and gave him my specifications for a tour. Because no one seemed to offer what we wanted, he put me in touch with his affiliate of 10 years, Amir Gadnaor, who put together exactly what we wanted - a tour of Israel and Jordan with significant time spent in the West Bank, including places where Israelis are not permitted to go. We also wanted an "active" tour with hiking, swimming, etc. Amir put together a unique trip that covered it all. He was with us the whole time except in the parts of the West Bank where he could not go and where he had an excellent Palestinian affiliate take care of us. We were able to do things few tourists get to do such as a two-day hike via the old caravan route into Petra and a half-day exploring the underground catacombs of Jerusalem. We also spent a night in a Bedouin cave and a night with a Druze family in the Golan Heights. All amazing experiences. All the while, Amir was sensitive to our needs and flexible as our situation changed. It was the trip of a lifetime, made so by Amir, and the price was surprisingly reasonable for all that we were able to do.

We recently had the pleasure of touring Israel with Joe Sofair (jjjooe@gmail.com) as our guide. Joe is a true renaissance man with remarkable insights on kibbutz life, military service on the Golan and military history, and the biblical, archeological, and modern history of Israel. I am a Christian, my wife is Jewish, and my daughter recently completed the Birthright program and was interning in Tel Aviv. Over the course of 4 1/2 days - he shared panoramic views of Old Testament sites, sharing biblical stories from memory; read the Sermon on the Mount at the Church of the Beatitudes; described amazing archeological discoveries; and took us to recently discovered synagogues. We spent a fabulous day on the Golan, explored Hezekiah’s Tunnel in Jerusalem and the Knight’s Templar Tunnel in Akko, shopped and visited quaint synagogues in Tzfat, and viewed Old Jerusalem from the rooftops and the Mount of Olives. We had lunch by the sea in Akko, Labane at a Druze Village, and fabulous hummus at the town of Rosh Pinna. This is just a sampling of our experiences with Joe. It was truly an amazing trip, but the most unexpected highlight was how fortunate we were to meet Joe, who was caring, warm, and patient. He was generous with his insight and time and was a true companion during the trip. Sadly, the day we parted company, we felt as though we were saying goodbye to an old friend. Great guide but an even greater person. Thank you (תודה רבה) Joe for a memorable time - and to all, our highest recommendation!!!

Hava took a group of academics (from many countries) on a tour of the musueum. She managed to both display the impressive riches of the various collections, and talk about the various and changing narratives of Zionism over the years - and all of this with grace, verve and limitless knowledge. It was, simply put, an incredible tour.

My wife and I were lucky enough to have Gary Littwin as our tour guide while we were in Israel. As others have mentioned, Gary's personality, intimate knowledge of the country and his passion are world class. No doubt he certainly made our trip that much better. I am beyond happy to offer him this 5 star review. I would encourage anyone going to Israel to get in touch with Gary and see his services and take on guiding. If you have any questions of course please feel free to PM me.

Again to summarize- Gary Littwin is a world class guide and person I cannot recommend him highly enough!

We have two children aged 7 and 11, so tailoring days of touring to suit both us and them was Zel's challenge, and he came through with flying colours. He's great with the kids and excellent company for adults. He guides with an innate sense of how much information is enough, instead of downloading everything, and that is a real skill. This was our first trip to Israel as a family, but it won't be our last, and we will definitely explore further afield, in the company of Zel Lederman.

We are very independent travels who avoid cruises and tours because they are too structured, confining, and impersonal. We are also semi-professional photographers whose purpose on vacation is to do photography as well as learn about the places we visit. Friends who had been to Israel urged us to hire personal guides, especially since this was our first trip.

We cannot speak more highly of Joe Sofair and Zel Lederman. Each did an incredible job of making our trip to Israel the best vacation we ever had. Both Joe and Zel developed a rapport with us, so we felt as if we were traveling with a good friend not a tour guide, per se. They knew how to tailor what we did each day to our needs and interests rather than a schedule. They are not only knowledgeable about Israel, but they know how to provide the information so we did not feel overwhelmed with data.

Joe led us through northern Israel, tailoring our activities to our photographic interests. He took us to a few places that few tourists go as a result of our talking in the car. His knowledge of the area is outstanding. It was hard to say good-bye to him when he left us in Jerusalem to pick up the tour with Zel. Although Joe and Zel have different personalities, Zel provided the same quality of service, connection, and knowledge as Joe. Who said lightening doesn't strike twice! We appreciated their humor, willingness to engage with us, answer our questions, and adaptability. At no point did the itinerary rule what we did, or were they explanations of what we were seeing sounded scripted and rote.

In sum, we feel as if we were travel with friends--well we did make two new friends of them. They helped make this trip spectacular. We did get more than our share of great photos to make our memories. We will definitely not only recommend, but use their services again.

My Father and I were recently in Israel for a short visit. While it cost a little more for a private guide, we only had a few days and wanted to really see Jerusalem in a day. I cannot recommend having a private tour or Hava Schwartz enough. Hava picked us up from our hotel and spent the first five hours of the day giving us an amazing and informative walking tour of the old city. We saw pretty much everything at our own pace while weaving through the city like no large tour could. We finished the day at the Israeli National Museum seeing the Dead Sea scrolls and Israeli history and art. Hava knew exactly where to take us to make the most of our museum time.

Overall, I highly recommend this company and Hava.

We travelled for two weeks in Israel and Jordan, most of it with guide Amir Gadnaor of Israel Travel Company. Our experience went far beyond our expectations. We were concerned about spending so much time with someone we didn't know, but Amir is so knowledgable, interesting, fun and easy to get along with that the time flew by without a moment's difficulty. We were sometimes a little hesitant to do something or go somewhere that Amir said was "very special," but we had never heard of. From snorkeling in Caesarea and seeing the remains of Herod's palace, to dinner with a Bedoin family, to hiking in the desert, everything he suggested opened us up to new ways of thinking about the history, geography and politics of Israel. Amir made the places and stories of ancient Israel come alive as we toured the country.

We spent two days visiting Wadi Rum and Petra in Jordan. Amir made all of the arrangements for us and hooked us up with a wonderful driver and tour guides while there. If you have the time, these places are not to be missed. They took our breath away.

We can't recommend Amir Gadnaor highly enough. We feel privileged to have travelled with him.
