Based on the recommendation of Mr. Douglas Duckett (an expert on the IsraelTripAdvisor Forum); my husband and I discovered the amazing Eyal Amos Reuven (tour guide) and his travel agency Traveling Jerusalem.

From our first Zoom meeting (which lasted over an hour) we were able to appreciate Eyal’s in-depth knowledge of Israel, passion for his country, professionalism, and attention to detail as he asked us questions, listened carefully, and wrote notes about our individual interests, places to see, and expectations while visiting Israel.

After multiple emails and Zoom calls; Eyal created an extraordinary itinerary! Throughout our journey in Israel, our daily experiences felt like we were walking through the pages of the Bible and/or a history book! His wonderful assistant, Sonia played a key role in our trip as well. She assisted with booking all of our hotels in perfect/central locations and even hand-picked the best rooms with views in each of them. She also made sure that breakfast was always included in our bookings! FYI… breakfast in Israel is quite the treat:)

We stayed in Israel for a total of seventeen days and enjoyed every single minute of those days! Eyal was able to provide us with guides as requested throughout the country. In the North area (Haifa,Tiberias, Golan Heights, and the Western Coast) our guide was Yariv, a friendly, enthusiastic, and experienced guide that led us through incredible days in Israel. In Masada, our tour guide was Tamar, she offered us the beautiful hike in Ein Gedi Nature Reserve as well as the vivid and interesting history of the Masada.

In Jerusalem, Eyal was our amazing guide and “the perfect host”. He is a brilliant, exceptional, meticulous, and knowledgeable person/guide. He shared with us that his personal desire for knowledge about Israel started as a child. He was so fascinated with the history of his country that he read everything he could find!!! Therefore, his passionate narrative is eloquent, educational, and is easy to follow and understand. We listened to him attentively as he narrated the incredible and spiritual religious/ancient sites and their remarkable history throughout the centuries.

In addition, Eyal, was able to arrange for us a three day tour in Jordan that included Wadi Rum and Petra. Once again, the hotels and guides were amazing!

We were enchanted with Eyal and his wonderful team; they made us feel like we were part of their family… As soon as we stepped out of the airport and got on the taxi to Haifa, we received a phone call from Eyal welcoming us to Israel! On a daily basis they would check on us, and on our first day in Jerusalem Sonia came to our hotel to meet us! All of our guides and drivers were friendly, punctual, and very reliable.

Traveling Jerusalem with Eyal and his fantastic team was a SUBERB experience! Can not wait to go back…

We have just returned from one of our most interesting and enjoyable trips… our first visit to Israel. My husband and I and another couple spent 8 days seeing this fascinating country in the company of one of the best guides we have ever had the privilege of knowing. Eyal Reuven is an extraordinary young man whose vast knowledge of the history of his country is remarkable. He is 37, but he admits he started his career as a child reading the encyclopedia before family trips. He was very professional, helping us to plan our itinerary to include Jewish and Christian sites, as well as many Roman and Crusader antiquities, plus the modern Israel of today, and at the same time recommending hotels… not just the hotels but specific rooms… and booking them for us, arranging dinner reservations, and securing our Covid tests to be done in the parking lot at the Israel Museum for our convenience! Best of all, he is a friendly, charming person with whom to spend your vacation. I would be remiss if I did not thank Douglas Duckett for telling me about Eyal in his excellent guidebook to Israel. You can contact Eyal Reuven at his company’s website, You will be most fortunate to be his client.

Relatives who had visited Israel recommended Eyal Reuven and his staff at Traveling Jerusalem for a tour for my husband and me and are we ever happy we took their advice! We had originally arranged a 3-day tour of Israel with a Traveling Jerusalem guide meeting us at the Viking cruise ship Ashdod disembarkation point and continuing to embarkation in Haifa with Viking's permission to deviate from the ship tours. With Covid, the ship's stop in Israel was cancelled twice so we finally arranged a 4.5 day tour linked to a long-planned trip to Turkey. Eyal was on the 9th iteration of plans for our tour (thanks for not giving up on us!) until we finally made it to Israel on September 3. My husband Mark walks with a cane and has limited mobility (cannot use stairs without a railing and any steep ramps) and our guides really took his walking ability into consideration. Sometimes we had to skip tourism sites that he could not maneuver but we saw as much as possible. Shachar took us around northern Israel from Haifa (Sea of Galilee region, Capernaum, Akko, Nazareth, and then down past the Dead Sea to Masada) concluding in Jerusalem. Shachar drove a multi-seat van that was very comfortable and easy to get into for the 2 of us and our Dan Panorama hotels were excellent. Eyal took over guiding in Jerusalem, where we took a van to the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Room of the Last Supper/King David's tomb, the Western Wall, and Church of the Holy Sepulchre/Golgotha. Our final day was spent in Bethlehem where we arrived between the morning Franciscan and Armenian Masses. Shaddy our Palestinian guide knows EVERYONE at the Church of the Nativity from the security staff members to the Armenian bishop. He gave us an excellent tour of the basilica, and was able to get the bishop's
permission for me, between Masses, to go down the steps to the Grotto of the Nativity where, with Shaddy leading, I was able to touch the Star marking Jesus' birthplace and see the manger site. It was amazing and moving to be alone at a place that is usually overrun with tourists! We returned to our hotel in Jerusalem to check out and then on to Tel Aviv for our flight to Turkey.
All arrangements and connections came off without a hitch. Our guides were all extremely knowedgeable about the history and significance of the sites we visited and made our tours a pleasure. Sonia in the office helped make our arrangements run smoothly and even found a rehabilitation hospital's store so that we could purchase a replacement for Mark's worn cane tip.
We highly recommend Traveling Jerusalem for anyone wanting a memorable tour of Israel. Eyal and his staff personalize the tour to visit the places the tour group wants to see. Great tour guides, smooth transportation arrangements, and consideration of my husband's mobility limitations were special pluses to using Traveling Jerusalem's tour planning. Thank you for a marvelous experience!

Traveling Jerusalem is the singular best tour guide service I have ever used in my travels to all 7 continents and over 70 countries. We typically use private tour guides in certain locations and our 3 week tour of Israel and Jordan was such a trip. We started working with Traveling Jerusalem Pre COVID and our trip was obviously postponed by two years. Traveling Jerusalem stayed engaged and continued working with us until we were able to, finally, get to Israel.

The 3 different guides we had were AWESOME. Each was friendly, kind and extremely informative about the historical significance of the area from the viewpoint of all religions that hold the area holy. We also threw a major change, late, at Traveling Jerusalem and they dealt with it completely and in excellent fashion.

This is a premium travel service. They are professional, great communicators and simply warm and wonderful people. Everyone single person we encountered from Traveling Jerusalem was outstanding in every way. I rarely rate companies this way because it’s rare to encounter travel partners that perform at this level. They earned every comment I have made here. Again, I have been to all 7 continents and over 70 countries. Traveling Jerusalem stands out amongst all that travel.

I recommend this company as loudly as I can. I almost feel sorry for someone who tours this area and doesn’t use them. Traveling Jerusalem made our trip all that it could possibly need.

Wow. What a trip! This was our first family trip to Israel including grandparents and teenage kids. In the months leading up to the trip, Eyal and Sonia provided a great initial itinerary and then worked directly with us to make any necessary adjustments to meet our needs. They took care of EVERYTHING including hotels, drivers, tickets for activities and meals where applicable. Once we arrived, they were in touch providing updates and checking in with us to ensure everything was running smoothly.
Their expertise in knowing when and where to go over the course of our trip was exceptional. The tour guides provided (Noam, Rafi and Josh) were excellent.
We did not experience any issues over the course of our trip, however if we had, I am certain that they would have helped resolve them immediately.
Thank you team!

My husband and I spent a week in Israel and loved every moment in part due to Eyal's planning and knowledge. It all began when we emailed him last year about our interest. He was prompt in his responses, took the time to get to know our budget and desires, and spoke with us at length by phone. He thought through all the details such as time needed to cross the Jordan border to Eliat and booked out interior flight and hotels. He respected and encouraged our wish to spend time on our own but was always just a text message away if we needed guidance in shopping or eating. He was so open to our questions about life in Israel and gave us thoughtful answers. He was flexible with our itinerary such that when I mentioned my interest in Marc Chagall windows one evening, the next morning we were on our way to view them (not to be missed-beautiful). Jerusalem with Eyal is a must and it became one of my favorites cities due in part to Eyal's ability describe the history in stories. He is fun to spend time with and yet takes his job very seriously. He also knows his food! We saw many sights missed by tours and historical sight seeing, hiking, floating, The Sea of G, and much more.

Normally I do the planning of our trips. But given the complexities, I decided to turn over the reins. We contacted several people and selected Eyal to help us develop our 14 day trip for our family of five adults. He was extremely informative, listened well (a rare trait today) and was patient in helping us meet the needs of 2 different generations. It was amazing to see how easily he could transition between our 30-something children and the newly minted AARP parents.

Eyal did an excellent job of maintaining the attention and informing people of a wide range of knowledge and experiences. He is definitely passionate about what he does and it showed in the quality of our trip. He led us through the story of Israel, from past to present.

On the tactical side, he handled our flight from Eilat to TLV, all transportation, hotels, tickets to events, guides/car in Palestine, as well as drove and guided us in the Golan Heights, Sea of Galilee, Akko and more. He does it all!

Needless to say, after 2 weeks together, Eyal was, and remains one of the family. We have had some stellar guides all over the world and Eyal is one of our favorites. We will definitely hire him when we return and cannot recommend him more strongly.

Visiting Jerusalem area for the first time, we wanted to be sure to use our time well and see the things we wanted to see, with the proper (ie, our interests) focus. We could not have been happier with our 3 days with Traveling Jerusalem, and Eyal and his fellow guides. We ended up with 3 separate guides on our 3 days and all of them were wonderful. Very knowledgeable, personable, and willing and able to answer any question. Most importantly, they customized our visit and its emphasis specifically to our interests. They were flexible as to timing and even some last-minute site additions to maximize our experience. They were all interested in ensuring that our interests were being served and we were having a good time (we did!). The level of detailed knowledge they had was astonishing!

Eyal called us ahead of our visit and asked about our faith backgrounds and interests and any particular places we wanted to include. He met every commitment in a very big way, including coordinating a Muslim guide for our visit to Bethlehem (West Bank.) Being just the 2 of us with our guide saved us so much time and gave us the opportunity to interact with the sites and sounds of Jerusalem (we got Bethlehem, Masada and the Dead Sea in too) in a way we otherwise would not have. These were some of the best guides we have EVER had (and we travel alot.) With the help of their in-depth interpretation, I feel I know Jerusalem in a very special way. I can't wait to return. I recommended them wholeheartedly.

What I think was scheduled to be an 8 hour tour ended up being at least 9 hours (which was very nice of Eyal to spend the extra time with us, showing us so much more than we could have ever seen alone). He has a very extensive understanding of history and made the entire tour come alive. He was very responsive prior to the trip on my many questions, and has been so nice to follow up to provide information even after our trip. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a personal tour. You will not be disappointed, and Eyal is truly an advocate for getting a better understanding of Israel--both present and past

We love Eyal! He was a guide who became part of our family. We were 8 people; mom, dad and 4 girls 18 to 24, and a boyfriend and his dad. We spent 3 days with Eyal in Jerusalem and 3 days traveling with Eyal in Galilee. It was fantastic. In addition to all of the arrangements and timing and accommodations being perfect, Eyal did a fabulous job bringing to life the history and events in the Holy Land. We were a mixed group of Christians and Jews and Eyal knew so much about both traditions and the importance of what were were seeing and doing to each tradition. As you can imagine, with 8 adults we were sometimes late, or had some who wanted to spend more time at a place than others, and through it all Eyal was patient and understanding so that we always enjoyed our time.

Even better for us, we got to know Eyal well and loved spending time with him. It was easy for us to connect with him and to really enjoy our time together. It became very special for all of us and there were no dry eyes when we finally dropped Eyal off at his house. Eyal is a special person in addition to being a wonderful guide.

For other travelers to Israel, you should know that Eyal will do all of the guide things right, he will be able to talk about all of the history and theology of the sites you see, and you will always enjoy the time you sightseeing because Eyal will be a great companion and friend.
