About Green Olive Tours
Since the global health crisis began in early 2020, Green Olive Tours has conducted mainly 'Virtual' tours. There are several scheduled every week. Beginning in April of 2021 we are opening private tours and should resume our regular schedule gradually over the summer and autumn. Green Olive Tours usually has departures from Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, & Tel Aviv. The company is a cooperative of Israelis and Palestinians, and is a social enterprise focusing on cultural and people-to-people experiences in Palestine an Israel, visiting religious and historical sites, villages, refugee camps, and off-the–beaten track locations. Our guides are knowledgeable and illuminate the culture, politics and history of the Palestinian and Israeli people. Each day-trip is unique, and often include lunch with a Palestinian or Bedouin family. We offer daily tours and multi-day experiences that include home stays in Bethlehem and Palestinian villages. Our tours benefit the local people.

Have lunch with a Palestinian family in Hebron, and have the option to spend the night with a middle class Palestinian family in Bethlehem. The tour combines the historical and religious highlights of the area, and explores the history and politics of Israel’s Occupation of the West Bank.  You’ll visit Abraham’s Tomb, the Church of Nativity, Israel’s ‘Separation Barrier’, a refugee Camp, view the ‘settlements’, and walk the ghetto neighbourhoods of Hebron.

In March, 2020 I took three tours with Green Olive Tours: Jerusalem with Yahav Zohar, Bethlehem and Hebron with Anas Mashni, and Nablus with Mohamed Barakat. The tours were all wonderful. I learned so much and all of the guides were truly excellent. They were extremely well informed, professional, friendly, and just great people! This was an incredible experience. I highly recommend Green Olive Tours!

I took me some time to do this Review, but here I go. Back in 2018 we had one of the most informative and interesting tours we ever did. We visited Bethlehem and Hebron as well as the Separation Wall in Jerusalem on the Palestine side. Our guide was Yamen Elabed, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Green Olive to get a different perspective of the situation in the Holy Land than what the media normally says.

My mother (Elizabeth) and I did a series of Green Olive tours in May 2018 and can not recommend them enough. All the guides we had left a profound impact on us and wer very hospitable, accomdating and professional. Yamin has especially stayed in our memories as his warm and open presence was particularly reassuring and grounding. Thank you all at Green Olive for the meaningful cultural exchange I am still absorbing and processing 3 years on! In these challenging and unpredictable times I often think back to generosity of spirit of the guides and hosts we stayed with who shared their experiences with us. I hope that everyone at Green Olive is safe and will be able to continue their important work to rebuild together once the recovery begins. Jeanine Heismann

I like Green Olive tours because it is a small, local non-profit so everything is very personal. Furthermore, their staff are diverse and their tours are impartial in terms of educating us about both the hitosry and the realities of Israel and Palestine on the ground today. They also take us to places large commercial operators would never get you too so you also actually meet individuals on site. The visuals are good including video of the tour and the many photos and maps included. I have taken their on-line tours for Jerusalem, Banksy Bethlehem, Jaffa, Jordan Valley and Gaza. I recommend them highly, without reservation.

Thanks to my work in Israel/Palestine, I've been on a ton of tours in the region, and Green Olive's are consistently my favorite. Their tours are well-organized and thought-out and their guides are exceptionally knowledgeable and personable. I'd like to do more virtual tours with them, too--I was incredibly impressed by how engaging and informative their virtual tours are, and highly highly recommend them toa nyone.
