Shai hooked us up with Avi Biran and Michel Kahn, who were both terrific tour guides, especially for children. Avi showed us how to eat carob seeds in Beit Guvrin/Eleutheropolis/Maresha and reminded us that Elijah the Prophet was said to have a survived on only carob seeds and water for months. My 9 y/o son loved it when Michel surprised us by dressing up as King Herod at Masada; I also loved discussing with Michel the possible causes of the destruction of the Ein Gedi synagogue 1400 years ago. Highly recommend both!…

Shai is very knowledgeable and personable. He connected the history of Israel with the modern era. I would highly recommend him for both Jewish and Christian oriented tours.

My wife and I visited Israel in March from the UK to see family and friends and we wanted to take a day out to go on a trip with a wildlife guide. I'm a wildlife photographer and my wife enjoys the natural world so after some online research I booked a professional guide to take us to some hot spots. Unfortunately we were let down by the guide with a couple of days to go. Luckily our nephew is a licensed tour guide in Israel and phoned Shai Tours, one of his contacts, to see if another guide could step in. After a couple of hours Shai let me know that a guide was available on the date we wanted to go. We agreed a price and I was promptly contacted by Avner Muller who is a licensed tour guide and a wildlife expert. Perfect! Avner collected us from our Tel Aviv hotel at 6:30am in his luxury vehicle and took us to the Beit She'an area, Lake Galilee and the Hula Valley. He returned us safely to our hotel at 8:30pm. We saw some great wildlife and I got some really nice photographs. In between wildlife sightings Avner kept us entertained by telling us about the history of the area that we were driving through and pointing out historical landmarks on the way. We had a first rate lunch stop and coffee breaks - Avner also brought herbs from his garden and made us tea using his portable stove! We could not have had a nicer guide and one who was so knowledgeable and we had first rate service from Shai Tours by hooking us up with Avner on the date we wanted even though Shai was working in Hawaii at the time,…

My family and I spent three days touring with Shai - at Masada, the Dead Sea, Ein Gedi, Jerusalem, Caesarea, and Haifa. Shai is a fantastic tour guide. He displays an impressive breadth of knowledge of geography, geology, wildlife, Jewish, Christian, and Muslim religions, history, architecture, modern Israeli culture, and anything else you can think of. There isn't a question he cannot answer. His guiding extends beyond mere knowledge. Shai also provides significant insight into the patterns of history and modern life, bringing meaning and order and making connections throughout the tour. Shai is also very engaging and managed to keep the whole family, children, teenagers, and adults engaged and entertained and paying attention to the knowledge he had to impart and our surroundings. I'd recommend Shai to any size group in any setting in Israel.…
