Israel is an amazing place to visit, and Odynovo made it truly special. Starting with our driver Kareem meeting us at the Tel Aviv airport and ending with Kareem taking us back to the airport for our flight home, everything in between was perfect and magical. Kyle Li with Odynovo put together the perfect Holy Land tour for us.

This tour (our third with Odynovo/Odyssey) was rich in historical and biblical insights, spectacular natural features and contemporary relevance. It was patiently and carefully organised by Reinself Wei. The Jordan component, beginning at Queen Alia Airport in Amman, was seamless, from our meeting with the airport representative who efficiently arranged the visa waiver and assisted with SIM card purchase then accompanied us to our driver (Awni) who took great care of us for the remainder of our visit. The arrangements in Israel were not quite so smooth. The Israel driver had been waiting four hours at the Allenby Bridge crossing before we arrived, and he was not happy. Our Jordan driver did not think it was ever possible to reach Israel by the scheduled time of 12.00 noon as we were unable to leave the Wadi Rum camp by jeep until 8:30 am. We were further delayed by a flat tyre on the way to the border and then had to wait 1.5 hours for the shuttle bus*. The Jordan driver had advised his tour company and said the message had been conveyed to Israel, but the Israeli driver did not know. He spent most of the drive to Jerusalem talking on his phone. We did not feel welcome. We then had three Israeli guides over the following five days so on most days we did not know who would appear in the hotel lobby at 9:00am (someone always did!). Each of the guides (Amir Av, Tsafrir Helman and Eyal Carmel) was excellent but we missed the personal continuity we had experienced in Jordan (and which our confirmation letter had indicated would take place in Israel). They were freelance guides and said they were not allocated their jobs until late the previous day. The final guide (Eyal) felt that our itinerary around the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights was too crowded, but he did his best to fit it all in. Despite the above, and although it was hot, exhausting and rushed at times, this was a very worthwhile tour and we are grateful to Reinself and Odynovo for making it possible. *We were charged JOD20 each at the border: JOD10 for departure tax and JOD10 for the bus.

This truly was an interesting trip. We started planning our trip with John Hu at Odynovo and then started our Israel tour with our guide Nasser and driver Raed, which both have taken care of us and made sure we have a great time in Jersusalem, Israel. Starting with crossing the border from Jordan to Israel, we didn't have the greatest experience with the custom and had to wait for 2+ hours. Raed stayed in contact with us the whole time and waited for us the whole morning and it was much appreciated to know that someone is waiting to help us no matter what. Then our tours with Nasser was simply amazing, Nasser is very knowledgeable. He learnt our religious preferences and tailored the city tour to our needs so that we can see and absorb most of this country's history. Everything is well explained and well planned, we very much enjoyed the trip. we would definitely go with them again!

My visit to Israel began by spending two hours at the Jordan-Israel border, being harrassed by an angry and visibly disturbed security guard! All he could do was hurl loud abuses for the first 30 minutes before taking off with my mobile phone and passport. Luckily, he was followed by a more sensible colleague who was capable of treating people well and allowed us to pass through for our visit. Once that experience was over, we were met by a great Driver (Hannah) and Nasser Awiedah, one of the most knowlegeable guides we could have ever asked for. Nasser knew every nook and corner of the old city. He walked us through every place of significance that could be covered in a day and half, while clearly explaining the details and history behind each. He even showed us the way to safety as we saw a crowd of youth getting ready for a peaceful protest outside the walls of the old city after mentioning that it usually never ended very peacefully. Minutes after we left the area, we could hear the tear gas bombs that the Israeli security forces began throwing at the crowd. The next day, we were driven to Bethlehem were Nasser, once again showed us how well he knew the area and the history associated with each of the places we visited, after which, we spent a bit of time in the ancient city of Jaffa and Tel Aviv. Leaving Tel Aviv to return home was also a bit of an experience, being stopped by the security forces long enough once again!
