Our time in Israel was made incredibly special by Michal and her amazing artistry in explaining the land of Israel. Almost one year has passed since our trip but we continue to talk regularly about Michal and what an amazing impact she had on us. She has a deep knowledge of history and is able to convey it in a way that is interesting, fun, and memorable. We could not recommend her more highly.

My wife and I booked our trip to Israel with Artisans of Leisure, a luxury tour agency. We have worked with them before and they are outstanding. If you want every part of your trip handled without worries, you can’t go wrong with them. On this trip, we were joined by Michal Granot, a wonderful tour guide, for five days. She was born in Jerusalem and her family has been there for about 200 years. Michal is knowledgeable, smart, articulate and a great listener. She wanted to know about our interests, from politics to religion, before we started touring. Very impressive. While Artisans sets up the itinerary with us ahead, Michal enhances the experience by pointing out things which either will need more explaining or spends more time on topics of interest. So, we visited Jerusalem, inside and out. Everyone seems to know Michal. This was especially fun in the markets. When we went to Masada and the Dead Sea, she made sure that we spent time at a beautiful nature preserve close by, Ein Gedi. It had waterfalls and was a great place for a hike. When we went to visit holy sites by the Galilee, she knew the best times to go and see the Beatitudes and Capernaum, but also where to get the best shots of the sea and the River Jordan. Always pleasant, she shared her opinions which were always thoughtfully offered. Michal was respectful when our perspectives differed. We cannot recommend Michal and Artisans too highly.

My friend and I had a free day in Jerusalem and we’re connected with Michal for a walking tour. Had no ideas and no expectations. When she offered two Jewish ladies who had been to Israel many times before the option to do the Christian sites tour, we jumped. An entirely new, fascinating exploration that we had never experienced ourselves and Michals ability to make it relevant to us was so fun. She’s also very personable, has a fabulous personal family story and speaks English immaculately (in addition to Hebrew, Spanish, Turkish and Arabic). Showed us through the Muslim quarter comfortably, where we had the best Baba Ghanoush at Abu Shuki restaurant. Such a wonderful lucky experience.

Michal is so unbelievably intelligent and charismatic. I feel smarter just having been around her. My husband and I were so impressed with her wealth of knowledge of Middle Eastern and Israeli history. Truly a wonderful, brilliant person through and through. She will make your trip a much more enriching and enlightening adventure by bringing Israeli history to life through carefully crafted narrative experiences.

What can be said about Michal. It's impossible to sum up how beyond amazing she is. She is such a wealth of information about everything, not just Israel. She has her own, unique perspective that lightly colors her commentary without pushing any specific sort of agenda. She has one of the most incredible memories I've ever seen. She narrates the history of Israel and weaves it into a story that somehow makes the complexity of the history make sense to those of us who struggle to grasp it all. She is kind and lovely and straightforward and brilliant. She could sense when we were overloaded with information and needed a brain break and, yet, she somehow never seemed to need a break, herself. Her energy and stamina were incredible. She was up waiting at the bus for us every day, even when she got a bit ill towards the end of the trip, and she even popped in to some optional, evening events. Throughout the entire trip, not a day went by when we weren't talking about what an incredible guide, person, and woman she is. I know it sound hyperbolic, but she was truly amazing.
