I followed Simon's Facebook feed for a while, envy with his beautiful footage.
Then I decided to join the Jerusalem Holy old City 6 hours tour with him, using my simple Olympus OMD 10 Mark iv with one prime 35 1.8 lens and one spare battery.

It was amazing,
Everyone knows and love Simon, you get the most fresh and authentic treats from the locals, coffee , Tea, sweets whatever (We had the best humus for lunch) .

You can be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, indy, you name it - even an atheist , that is the magic of Jerusalem and the magic of the tour guide chosen, not for nothing, soon to be known, by the discovery channel.

If you have guests from abroad, work related, family, friends, spouse, kids,
And you want to give them the most authentic and intimate experience of Jerusalem.
Simon Benny's "‪Jerusalem photo tour‬" is your best choice!

1. Good for photographers as well as any person with a mobile phone.
2. All languages speaker
3. You do not fall of your feet.
4. You get to exotic corners and meet exceptional people and stories

Go for it.

Yesterday I partipated in a 7 hour tour in the old city of jerusalem guided by Simon Beni. Beni, an experienced tour guide and a gifted photographer, is very happy to share both his vast knowledge of the history and culture of Jerusalem, and his personal photograpic approach and techniques.
The tour had also a unique human dimension; Beni knows not only the remotest alleys of the old city, but also many of its inhabitants and merchants, moslims, jews and christians. The many encouners with beni's old acquintances often triggered new stories, and sometimes new photo opportunities.
Due to the corona regulations, the old city's alleys are almost empty of people, and the typical market atmosphere is missing. On the other hand there is a unique opportunity to see the city in a different light.
I had a very enjoyable tour and I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to see the old city's "off the beaten tracks" (and have a new view of its very besten tracks)

Visiting Jerusalem with Simon was a real delight and joy. Not only does Simon posess unparalleled insight into the city, its history and people - he genuinely cares about the interests of his tour participants and wants to give them a truly unique and tailored experience.

This was my first time in Jerusalem, and my first opportunity to have a tour guide show me a city I had not seen before. Both blew me away.

Simon taught me not only history and where the sights are, he helped give me vision for the scenes and light playing in front of me. In 4 hours with Simon, I saw more than I could have seen and experienced in a week on my own.

I can't wait for my next tour with Simon, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who wants to see and experience all that Jerusalem can be.

I highly recommend a wonderful tour that I did two days ago in the old city of Jerusalem with tour guide and photographer par excellence, Simon Beni.
We travelled in time down the history of the ancient city with stories and information that Simon gave us. We wondered through the alleyways and markets and were taught how to use light and dark to take photos. Simon chats to everybody which adds to the atmosphere. He is helpful and considerate and fun to be with. If you are interested in seeing the old city through the eyes of a camera lens this is the guide for you.

I spent an amazing morning in the old city of Jerusalem with Simon Beni this week, Simon wears 2 hats, that of a licensed tour guide and also a gifted photographic teacher. I must say that I visit Jerusalem often, and love the vibes in the Old City. As we are still in the midst of Corona, many stalls are closed with some alleys almost empty, a sight I'm not familiar with This time "was like a first timer" for me seeing the alleys and meeting the people through Simon's eyes and lens.
Simon knows the Old City like the palm of his hand, he know the locals, the stall owners, the clergymen, the right time to be at the right location - to get the best light effects and he gave us tips and techniques to capture each composition in the most interesting way. My advantage is that I live in Israel, so will definitely meet up with Simon again, to venture into the past, in the Old City.... with my lens :)
If you're looking for blend of history and photography, then Simon is your guy - Highly recommended

Simon was terrific - from both photography and personality standpoints. We went with our 19 year old son, and Simon was able to connect with him as well as my wife and I. He has a great rapport with the local community, we saw some very interesting parts of Jerusalem/The Old City that were off the beaten path that we did not see on a trip we took a few years ago. He is equally comfortable with DSLR and smart phone cameras, and can talk to camera literate experts as easily as with casual iPhone users. Highly recommend.

Simon Beni is a unique photo tour guide with extensive knowledge of Jerusalem on many levels ( architecture, history, religion, culture). His charismatic nature and outgoing personality are a genuine asset when touring Jerusalem. He is extremely well acquainted with the Jerusalem locals and officials. While touring the Old City of Jerusalem and The Temple Mount we encountered people that Simon knew every five minutes ( this is not an exaggeration). As a photographer,I enjoyed the special angles which Simon drew my attention to, as well as interesting compositions and exposures. His extensive knowledge of Jerusalem made my Jerusalem photography tour super enjoyable. I returned home with wonderful photos ( I am including a few herewith). He is highly recommended.

I was so very lucky to have the opportunity to spend two wonderful days with Simon Benny in Jerusalem. My interests were purely photographic and it was a pleasure to find someone who was willing to chase the light and help me search for the perfect shadows and moment. We spent time in Mae Sharim as well as the old city. He knew the perfect locations to photograph and when the light was at it's best. He also approached each area and their communities with sensitivity and respect. He was kind and generous both to me and to the people that we met along the way that we interacted with. He was engaging and full of information about Israel and photography. All in all, an absolute pleasure. I look forward to having the opportunity to return to Israel and see other parts of the beautiful and interesting country through the eyes and lens of Jerualem Photo Tour. Thank you Simon.

We went on a photographic tour in the Old City of Jerusalem with Simon Beni today. Simon taught us new techniques, reviewed our photos, took us to interesting places and told us the history. This was the best photographic workshop l have ever attended. We highly recommend going on a photographic tour with Simon.
