There is a lot to see in Jerusalem and therefore it is difficult to o’clock everything in. Whilst this is not a must see this is certainly worth a visit if you have the time. It also allows good views of the city.
As ever understanding the history /story behind this site adds to the enjoyment.

Mt Zion is now outside of the Jerusalem's city walls. It is a complex area, with a lot of history. The area is the site of King David's Tomb and the site of the Last Supper, where Jesus shared the Passover meal with is disciples, shortly before he was crucified. This was the irst Eucharist. It also contains a Sephardic synagogue, established in 1948 during Israel's War of Independence. The area abounds in antique Gothic architecture, dating from th Crusader perod.

We reached Mt. Zion on the 4th day of our pilgrimage. There's an ambiguity on the historical significance of this sacred hills as far Judaism and Christianity are concerned. But fact is, it played a crucial role in shaping the final days of Christ even His mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mt. Zion and the Mount of Olives face each other across the Kidron Valley. Both are essential to understanding Jesus' life and death. Today, the Mount of Olives is in Palestinian hands, and Mt. Zion in Israel ones. That in itself provides an interesting contrast. Here we were serenaded with a version of Leonard Cohen's "Allelullia" from four roof-top singers. We saw the traditional site of the Upper Room, and the House of Caiaphas, which bears the "sacred pit" where Jesus might have been held before his trial. This is also the site of Peter's betrayal and a lovely church dedicated to Mary built by Kaiser Wilhelm. It's still a forest of buses, and if you have to choose one, go for the Mt. of Olives. But I'm glad we saw both.

The complex of Mount Zion is one of the most visually eye-catching from the distance in Jerusalem. It is also among the most interesting, comprising of the Tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper, and the church and the crypt of Dormition Abbey as the main components.

Mount Zion is a small hillside location near the south east corner of the Old City where visitors will find a handful of important sightseeing stops. Many consider this a must-see location for first time visitors to Jerusalem.

Mt. Zion can be easily accessed by way of the Zion Gate and includes a fair number of quality attractions worth spending a hour or more to visit.

Here you will see the 11th-13th century Cenical building were the Tomb of King David can be found in the lower room. The Upper room is believed to be the location of the Christ's Last Supper.

You can also find the Dormition Abbey at Mt. Zion. This beautiful church and abbey is built upon the site where it is believed that the Virgin Mary died. Importantly, you want to make sure to visit the crypt here to see the resting place of the Virgin.

Nearby is the impressive Church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu and Schindler’s Grave. These are just a few minutes walk from the collection of attractions listed above and very much worth seeing as well.

In addition to visiting Mt. Zion, visitors can make their way east along the wall of the Old City, taking in the ruins of the City of David, the monumental tombs of Kidron Valley as well as numerous impressive places at the Mount of Olives, making for a very good 3/4 day of sightseeing.

Here you could visit a few interesting sites the most interesting of which is the Room of the Last Supper. Our guide explained to us that the actual room is not the entire large room on display presently but rather just the section between the pillar and the staircase wall amounting to about 1/3 the size of the whole room. Several photographic walls and nooks inside the room were actually later day additions with the most interesting spot for a photo (a fireplace-like place in the room) is actually a Muslim addition. Other attractions include the Tomb of David, directly below the Room of the Last Supper and the crypt of Dormition Abbey, which displays a resting statue of Mary. Like many of the other sites in Jerusalem, get yourself a good knowledgeable guide to provide historical stories of what is being viewed for better enjoyment...

Mount Zion is important for Christians, Moslems and Jews alike. This site is where you will find the room of the Last Supper, which has Islamic writings too. You will find the tomb of King David here as well.

It is very crowded and considering that a one way traffic system is followed, it is quite hard to find a quiet place to meditate on the importance of the site.
