After singing the praises of Sandeman's business model and outstanding quality of guides throughout Ireland, Scotland and Europe I can now add Israel to that list. We were most fortunate to have Yoni and Amiti giving us their wonderful perspectives and knowledge on five different tours in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem- three paid and two free/intro tours. We have another... More

I booked the free tour for 2 persons. I got the confirmation and a notice to be by the Jaffa gate 15min before the tour. We were sitting there from 10:30 till 11:15 and NOBODY showed up! I totally don't recommend!

Choosing the Sandemans New Europe free tour of the Old City is a no brainer. First of all, it's free so it's a win-win for you. At the most, the guides will mention that they accept tips as compensation but you will not be forced to do so. (In my case, I kinda went overboard with tipping because my smallest... More

I went on the free walking tour with Yoni, who was a incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining guide. I really learned a lot. We enjoyed it so much that the next day we went back and paid for the longer Holy Cities tour, which I found fascinating despite the fact that I'm not at all religious. Our guide Gary was so... Last week we booked the free guided tour through Jerusalem with Sandmans.. I really loved it and would recommend this tour (and guide) to everyone! Our guide Ryan was the best! He is very experienced and funny as well! It is well worth your time, even if you have already read the guidebooks, because Ryan really knows his stuff and... More

Spent about 5 hours with Matt Churchill as our guide. Having already done the free tour as well as the mount of olive tour we were familiar with this type of tour and as expected it didn't disappoint. Matt provided a well balanced and informative tour. Our group was quite large so it was important to keep up also because... More

I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a great overarching tour of Jerusalem...all for FREE! The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was never boring. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quick, about 2.5 hours, overview of the Old City. Just pay attention to dates...holy days make for some pushing at some of... More

Would recommend this for everyone. Can't go wrong with a free tour. Recommended to tip based off how much you feel it's worth. Entertaining guide who gave us many good tidbits on the city

We chose to pay for the longer walking tour around the Old City on the first day we visited it; figured we'd learn and see more, and the cost was minor compared to travel expenses. Our guide was Matthew Churchill. He gave a balanced presentation of Jewish, Christian and Muslim sites and viewpoints. A highlight was visiting the temple mount,... More

We tried to join a free walking tour for the Old city Jerusalem tour, but the group was way to big to be able to follow.. Even though my experience with Sandeman's new Europe tours is normally quite good, unfortunately here in Jerusalem it was not a success. I would advise to have more guides ready if the group is...
