Cozy atmosphere, beautiful klezmer music, fun and laughter, dance, incredible place full of yiddish books, kugel and wine, pantomime, exhibitions of a great man like Yonatan, I love this place. Better book in advance.

If you want to get yourself better acquainted with this culture, experience a truly joyful memory or simply enjoy some nice music while you are in Jerusalem I cannot recommend it more. Leave yourself to the hospitality of Mr.Burstein and his friends for an hour and a half and add an unforgettable experience to your visit.

Burstein and his band(s) do a great job of initiating newcomers to klezmer and yiddish songs. This is done also together with serving delicious yiddishe 'tapas' while you listen to the music. A warm, fun and welcoming place to all (religious and non religious, Jews and non Jews, all are welcome).

I'm a bit reticent to write a review on Burstein's Klezmer Basement because this is such a gem and still such a great, best kept secret. I almost wish it would remain this way. All I can say is that this is one of the best evenings you can dream of in Jerusalem if you're into music and new experiences.

Expect a lot of Yiddish music, singing and dancing performed by brilliant and friendly ultra orthodox and orthodox men and women. Everyone is enjoying the music, which is performed at the end of Shabbat on Saturday night. Better book in a advance as it is often packed. I loved the laid back, informal setting, the home made finger food we were served along a bit of wine, and the friendliness of everyone. A great experience, I will definitely be back.

Unforgettable moment of Jeddish music and history. Although quite difficult to find, once you are in this basement, it feels like home. A group of excellent young musicians are playing traditional Jeddish music with fun and talent.

I experienced hospitality, unique and authentic.
I heard about this place by chance and found it in the dark of a February night near the central bus station. It was more like being part of the family, beeing a good guest for the whole evening.
