We just got back from a week with Jacob Firsel as our tour guide in Israel. It was with my husband, two sons and their wives. It was a fantastic week. Jacob picked us up at our hotel at 8 am every morning and filled us with information non stop each day until 5 pm as we visited the most amazing sites.. He is a wealth of knowledge and we relentlessly peppered him with questions to which he knew most of the answers. One of our concerns before we went was that we were LDS and he was a Jewish guide and we didn't know if the tour would align with what we were looking for to experience while we were there with our beliefs in Jesus Christ. Jacob took care to take us to sites that would be purposeful to us and explained things in the Bible that not only enhanced our knowledge but deepened our beliefs in Jesus Christ as our Savior of the world. He was very conscientious of our safety and well being while we were there. He took time to stop when ever needed for restroom or beverage needs. He had planned in advance to go to the best restaurants to eat ate each day which made a huge difference. He even worked in an unscheduled stop to take a picture and a ride on Shu Shu the camel. This was probably the best trip we will ever have in our lives. If you have the opportunity I would highly recommend that you schedule with Jacob Firsel as your guide and go to Israel. It's life changing.

Saturday Jan 25: Haifa the City German Colony, Bat Galim Neighborhood Sunday Jan 26: Haifa: the Modern City Bahai Gardens in Haifa, Elijah’s Cave and the Maritime Museum Monday Jan 27: Akko and Rosh Hanikra Tuesday Jan 28: Safed, Hecht Museum at the University of Haifa and Observation Deck. Wednesday Jan 29: Druze Village: Daliat El Carmel, Zichron Yakov including NILI Museum, Caesarea National Park All of these places on our itinerary were memorable in different ways. Jake is a great communicator, and knows Israel not only as a citizen, but also as a parent and grandparent. Yet he has terrific energy, and nothing stands in his way to make sure that the tourists he guides get the most out of every experience. He took us to the Lebanese border in 2 different places. In one, there had been 6 very large hidden tunnels dug to create an opening into Israel, and we spent time there to see the houses on the Lebanese side of the fence, and learn how they were set up for aggression, until the tunnels were identified and cemented shut. Jake has a great Mercedes SUV, and traveling with Jake is a rich experience in every way.

We were planning our first trip to Israel and everyone I spoke with said they had found the best guide. While it is possible that there are guides as good as Jacob Firsel, I just can’t imagine anyone being better. Jacob was born and educated in the US so there was no accent to decipher. He is a professional educator and knows how to relate to his audience on a personal level, never talking without being sure you are following his narrative. There is a lot of information to be absorbed and he constantly involves you in the discussion. His 30 year tenure as a licensed guide allows him to speak without the aid of notes and he has the unique ability to present everything as if it is fresh and new. He is extremely personable with a great sense of humor and is full jokes, anecdotes and movie quotes making the drive between locations enjoyable. His itinerary suggestions and flexibility was just what we were looking for. In addition his restaurant and Hotel recommendations were spot on. I highly recommend Jacob if you are looking for a superior experience in Israel.

We travel extensively doing at least two major trips a year (i.e. A month in New Zealand and Australia, Argentina, Chile, Panama Canal, etc.) and several smaller trips. We spent 3 days in Tel Aviv on our own and 8 full days with Jacob seeing numerous sites throughout Israel. In all our travels, we have never had a better guide. He is not only extremely knowledgeable about a wide array of topics, he is funny. patient and a man of honor and integrity. We felt truly blessed to have him as our guide and now that we are home, we miss him! We wanted a trip that covered critical religious and historical sites and that also provided a political and geographical understanding of the area. That took us to Caesaria, Haifa, the Lebanese border, the Golan Heights, the Jordan River baptismal site, the Dead Sea, sailing on the Sea of Galilee and all of the holy sites in Jerusalem, as well as Yad Vashem. It was the trip of a lifetime. Since this site mostly rates day trips, all I can say is put yourself in Jacob's hands for as many days as you can afford. You will not be disappointed and if you are traveling this far for what may be a once in a lifetime visit, don't spare the money to get all you can from the experience. We can't rate him highly enough!

Jacob provided excellent service on our private 6-day tour of Israel. He was prompt and professional throughout. The itinerary was a great mix of awe-inspiring Ancient sites and its' correlation with Biblical sites found in scripture. Jacob provided us a great overview of the country, and did not miss any of the must-see destinations. We truly loved every aspect of our family vacation which included the seaside paradise of Caesarea, the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, the Western Wall from the underground tunnels, the City of David, Beit She’an, Masada, and the Dead Sea. Through his simple explanations, and in-depth knowledge of history, Jacob brought centuries old ruins to life for us. Our trip far exceeded our expectations solely as a result of Jacob’s superb organizational skills in preparing us prior to our arrival, and his vast knowledge of history, culture and scripture. I recommend Jacob’s Dream Day Tours to anyone wanting to visit Israel.
