I've lived in Haifa for almost 4 years but this was the 1st time that I was able to enter and walk the entire length of the Bahai Gardens (all 19 terraces), thanks to Daniel's inside connections. The tour lasted 4 hours and I logged 10,000 steps on my Fitbit so it was a good workout as well. Daniel offers an interesting, informative and fun tour of Haifa. Definitely worth your time. Make sure that you give Daniel a decent tip for his efforts.

We had an awesome morning with Daniel on his tour of The Baha’i Gardens and surrounds. Daniel is both passionate and extremely knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We would recommend him to everyone visiting Haifa

A MUST! Haifa is a beautiful and vibrant city, but if you know a little bit about it, it is even a greater thing. During our tour with Daniel not only that we learned how a fisherman's village became this impressive city, the secrets of the beautiful Baha'i Gardens or about the delicious local food, but we also had tons of fun. Thank you, Daniel! Kol ha-kavod, my friend!

An absolute must do while in Haifa! I did not know what to think about a free tour and I had my doubts as to what it would be all about! Daniel the tour guide was not only very charismatic and entertaining but extremely informative! The tour is only offered on Wednesdays, so be sure you are in Haifa on Wednesday and book this tour! You are taken in the Bahai Gardens when it is closed on Wednesday and it is a wonderful experience to be in the gardens with such a small group. If you go on a regular day you will be surrounded by masses of tourists, so be sure to go w/ Daniel on Wednesday.
I can't highly recommend this more! Be aware that Daniel does this just for tips, so be sure to have some cash in your pocket when you join as you will have a wonderful time and want to tip him generously.

I booked the tour with Daniel Sigalov and I can consider this one of the best tours I've been on yet. Daniel is a very intelligent and active guide, who tells the many stories of Haifa and of Israel in an interesting way. I would recommend this tour not only for tourists, but for locals as well.

I was sad to arrive in Haifa on a Tuesday and learn that the Baha’i gardens were going to be closed the next day; fortunately, my hostel let me know about Daniel’s free Haifa walking tour, and it is the best walking tour I have ever been on, hands down! Besides pilgrims, with Daniel’s tour, it’s the only way to see the gardens on Wednesdays. And, it’s important to note that you get to see and explore parts of the garden that you wouldn’t otherwise on a regular public tour. I was impressed with this enthusiasm, knowledge, and ability to answer the group’s questions and keep us on time. I highly recommend this tour!

Daniel was a fantastic guide. We were lucky that we went on his Wednesday tour, as he is one of the only guides allowed into the gardens with a group. Really interesting, humorous and informative tour of Haifa and the gardens. Highly recommended

Brilliant tour with a very knowledgeable and witty guide. Enjoyed learning about Haifa, the Bahá'í gardens and their faith in general, and a few bits and bobs from Dan's life as well. He's a charismatic fellow who puts all his energy into work he really loves and enjoys. And, as a former employee of the Bahá'í gardens, he is able to guide the tour through the entire complex, most of which is closed off to the public. Be in Haifa on a Wednesday and attend this tour. That is all.

This was our best free walking tour ever yet! Daniel is super funny and friendly and obviously loves what he is doing. You learn a lot and can ask away whenever you have a question. Amazing views, funny and interesting stories, a lot of time inside the Bahai Gardens and if you're lucky, you get the sampling tour at the marketplace nearby which is absolutely fun! Best thing to do in Haifa! Thank you very much Daniel :)

Daniel is a genuine guy who LOVES Haifa and Israel from the heart and opens up about it's beauty to us tourists. He does this because he loves it, is gregarious, smart, funny and WANTS to, which exudes from his storytelling and 'props.' If you plan on going, bring him an odd hat as a gift, he will love it (wish I'd known). You'll LOVE and admire his immigration story and pretty much every story he tells. You'll learn so much about Haifa and what makes this city great. It was the highlight of our trip! Also, I'm a jaded NY'er, so I'm hard to impress, but this tour, his insights, candor and perspective were remarkable. He's connected somehow, so we got a tour of the Baha'i Gardens privately when it was closed, which is worth a lot. It's nice to be around him and he made what could have been a boring tour, interesting and fun! The tour is all downhill, so it's do-able, unless you can't do steps. If so, forget it, but again, it's 99% downhill and I did it with bad plantar fasciitis, so go for it (I'm in my 40's). Wear sunscreen if you're not a sun-lover, I'm fair-skinned but it was overcast and 72 in December, so it was perfect. But if you're going in August, wear sunscreen, bring an umbrella or whatever it takes. Wear whatever casual attire you want - as long as your shoes are super-comfortable. Since you're going to the Baha'i (religious site), keep the clothes non-sleazy, which I'd think goes without saying, but...At the end of the tour, you'll swing through a market where you are taken to some great food shops...again, this jaded NY'er was skeptical, but LOVED and bought the falafel, paradise stick and Israeli coffee with cardamom that was recommended. Not a fan of the baklava desserts, but that's just my taste. There are two bathroom stops (pretty nice ones) and it's about 3.5 hours but was the perfect amount of time. By the way, this is a FREE tour, but you will want to tip and if you don't want to, you SHOULD anyway. Bring shekels - we gave 100 NIS (about $30USD) - but feel free to give more or what you can that's fair for his time. Just don't stiff him, which is crappy thing to do to anyone working hard, and with heart. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for making the effort to write such a beautiful and detailed review. All those warm reviews mean a lot to me, and help me keep this wonderful project. Those reviews help many more people hear about FreeToursHaifa and later fall in love with this beautiful city. Yours, Daniel Sigalov
