Great fun for the family on a hot day. We arrived relatively early and had to queue to get into the car park, but once on our walk although there were lots of people the traffic kept flowing. It was great fun sloshing down the river. Best clothing would be sturdy sandals, swim shorts, tshirt but plenty of people had day clothes on and managed not to get upper body wet much. I had flip flops and coped fine. I chose to swim some of it but it was shallow enough to walk. At the entrance there’s toilets, changing cubicles, foot washing, water refilling and small food shop. Excellent morning - expect it to take 1-2 hours but you can hang around on picnic benches before and after
as well.

This is a very famous reserve, with hundreds of people visiting it on a daily basis (mostly school kids on tours).
The reserve is not vast, and its main attraction is a walk down the stream of freezing water (especially nice during the hot summer).
The water level starts really shallow, but gradually gets to apx. 1 meter deep, just about the time your body gets used to the chilly water.
There's also a "dry trail" for people not wanting to get wet.
Try getting there early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
Entrance fee for an adult is apx. 8 USD.

We visited Majrasa as a group of 13 people including both kids (ages 1.5-7) and adults. Everyone had a great time! We started off with a picnic lunch at a table in the shade. Even though there were a lot of people at the site, it was pretty easy for us to find a good spot to eat together. After lunch we went over to the trails. One path is entirely in the stream, and the other is a dry path that runs parallel. I went on the dry path since I was wearing my 1.5 year old and was concerned about the stream rocks being slippery. There are 2-3 places along the way where you can go between the wet and dry paths to switch, take pictures, or say hi to the rest of your group. Most of the water path was knee-high for the adults, but towards the end it got a bit deeper. There is a warning sign posted, so at this point the younger children in our group (3.5-5) came onto the dry path. At the end, the dry path meets up with the stream so my son was able to play in the water - and watch the fish! - while waiting for the rest of our group. Overall, it's a great activity for a family with younger kids or multiple ages, and extremely refreshing on a hot summer day.

We came to Majasa at the end of October after the very long, very hot summer season. I had wanted to go somewhere where the earth did not look scorched, brown and yellow, and the streams as dry as a bone as it is in most parts of Israel at that time of year. I chose Majarsa at the northeast tip of the Kineret because of its promise of GREEN and WATER. We were not disappointed. It was an Indian summer day, extremely hot, 32 degrees Celsius, and walking through this stream of crystal clear water dotted with lagoons gave one the feeling of wading through some jungle river in Africa. It was a very pleasant and interesting experience. Make no mistake, the water was ice cold, straight from the mountains, and half way through my wife decided she needed to get out of the frigid water. There are plenty of exit points and we simply got out of the stream and walked on the parallel “dry” path. There is a much longer and more “extreme” water walk, but for us older “ducks”, the shorter route was enough. The whole circular shorter walk can be done in one hour, and IS worth the admission fee for the adventure and the experience!

We went with our five children ages 7-16 in late August. The water was cold, but very refreshing. Halfway through the river, there is a sign which says that all young children must exit early because the water level gets much deeper. Our kids got excited about the possibility of swimming, but the water didn't get deeper than waist deep the whole way, which was a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps earlier in the season it is deeper.
The whole hike takes about an hour. The main downside was how crowded it was. It's probably best to arrive early in the morning to avoid the hordes of tourists.

The Majersa water hike is lots of fun especially on a hot day. The water can get up to chest deep or more, but is clearly marked and has a place to 'escape' to dry land if you don't want to swim. Remember to wear water shoes, those rocks are slippery.

It cannot get any better on a summer day! A short trip to the north of the Sea of Galilee takes you to the park entrance. The highlight is walking in the shade through water (use plastic shoes). Go Daliyot Stream in the water. In the middle it becomes a pool where you can swim. There are shorter and longer routs.

Ok... So you want a Hike... The kids are hesitant... This is the hike for them.... In a River.... Great Fun plenty of laughs and plenty to see and do... Be careful it can get deep so the calf high water becomes waist height quickly... Again great fun

However not the best in the region.
Children will probably really enjoy it as it is not long so not tiring.
Like all the Nature Reserves in Israel, it had all the facilities to make it easy to visit.
