You can get there very easily by frequently running buses from Eilat. The last bus stop before Taba border ca 15 min drive form city center. Even if it was Januarry great and comfortable snorkeling. Red sea water ca 23,5C outside ca 22C. Windy protected beach, great access directly to coral water from 2 piers.

Probably the best free place you can snorkel in Eilat, hands down. We came here on day one and then decided to check other places out just to learn that nothing compared to this in terms of free places to snorke. Just amazing.

Probably best snorkeling site in eilat. Good amount of fish life and reasonable coral. There are bridges out to the reefs and you can swim between them. Beach is just before taba border and accessible by bus.

We visited Princess Beach in March 2018 and absolutely loved it. My friend and I both weren't experienced snorkelers but we had a great time exploring the corals that are only a couple of meters from the beach. I would absolutely recommend it!
GENERAL INFO:
The beach is named for the Princess Hotel which is right across the street but now closed. There is no entrance fee to use the beach. It is rather narrow and right next to the street, but thanks to a small stone wall you don't see the cars from the beach. There is a small shop that sells snacks and beverages. You can also rent or buy diving goggles (rent was 7€) and other swimming gear. During our visits the shop closed at 4.30 pm, so don't be too late if you want to rent equipment. (There are public restrooms but they also close when the shop closes.) On the beach there are wooden umbrellas which provide much needed shade. The beach itself is clean and well kept but it is not especially beautiful and there are no trees or greenery at all. You should really come to see the corals!
SWIMMING & SNORKELING:
Walking on the beach is quite uncomfortable due to the sharp rocks (swimming shoes might be a good idea). There are wooden jetties and platforms from which you can climb into the water. The water is extremely clear and beautiful and you can snorkle around the corals which start right there at the beach in very shallow water. There is a variety of fish to be seen (clownfish, pipefish, picassofish, pufferfish, ...) and at sundown we even saw an octopus and some lionfish in the water. It is super easy to snorkel at Princess Beach and while there are people with diving equipment around I think you can have just as much fun close to the shore.
GETTING THERE:
From Eilat you can take the Egged bus (the national bus agency) No. 15 "Taba Border Crossing" and get out at the stop "Princess beach". The bus stops at the mall in the city center and at various places in the hotel area. Bus No. 16 will take you the same way back towards the city.

The main advantage of this beach is that it is free while still you can do there quite good snorkeling and see Red Sea corals and fish.
It has some amenities like toilets which however are not always opened.
Main problem I would say is that parking is not that easy...and often full (to my experience of course)
There is a much better site for snorkeling 2 miles before this one (north of it) which is the Coral Beach Nature Reserve but you have to pay an entrance fee of 35 ils (10$) for an adult ticket.
The coral reef there is much more beautiful and the negative reviews saying otherwise have simply not seen it all (you can read my reviews about it, much is explained there).
The Migdalor beach (between those 2) is less interesting than the Princess Beach and of course the Reserve, its advantage being that it is also free and that you can swim from there to the Coral Nature Reserve not needing to pay anything since you just have to swim (around 1 mile swim though) .
I would actually recommend that you visit the 3 beaches, Migdalor, Princess and then the Nature Reserve to see most of what Eilat and its Red Sea Coral Reef have to offer.
Still, I am talking of the Red Sea of course ... Timna, the Pillars of Solomon and then the various Desert trips are also unforgettable experiences not to be overlooked
If you have the time to do all that I believe you won't regret it ...

You might be tempted to visit Coral Beach Nature Reserve, but think twice if you want to save some money. Follow the road to Little Prince Hotel near Egyptian borders. Corals are more sparse, but fish are many and water is clear. Piers help you get to deeper water directly.

Princess Beach is easily reached. About 15 mins by car or take bus 15 there and 16 back to Eilat for about 5 shekels each way.
Snorkeling masks can be rented for 30 shekels and a beach lounge for 12 shekels/ So it is a very cheap experience.
You are literally on the border with Egypt.
The water is clear and there are plenty of fish to see. Not as extensive as Barrier reef in Australia but stil a good day - we snorkeled 3 times.
There is a small shop for water, soft drinks, beer and snacks such as chips. Take your own picnic.
ONE DRAWBACK. When we were there on 5 September 2019 there was no water for the shower or no toilets which I think was provided by the hotel across the road.. This may be fixed soon but it may be worth checking

Just opposite to the now closed "Princess Hotel" the Princess beach is a good place for diving, you can use the hotel parking and just cross the road.
The beach has 2 bridges that go into the water, form which you can go Snorkeling (however I think that one of them is closed) but if you go scuba you can go even further and see wonderful corals and sea life.
When we got into the water, the visibility in the first few meters was not good due to a storm during the night, but one we got a bit deeper, the visibility cleared and the dive was very nice.
It is not a deep dive, but an interesting one.

Shalom, we'll be coming to Eilat on vacation soon. Our question: Can you rent sun beds and umbrellas at beach? Is it possible to safely conclude valuables such as money? Thanks for the answer already. Greetings and Shalom from Germany - Helmut

Bonjour, Princess Beach est une des dernières plages avant la frontière, on ne peut pas louer de transat ici, il faut aller sur les plages en amont qui ont tout le nécessaire. Nous n'avons rencontré aucun problèmes de vols en Israël.
