We had just returned from a six day trip in the desert and the mountains of Sinai and stayed at the beautiful Dan Eilat Hotel. After a good long shower, early in the evening, we exited the back side of the hotel and here we were, on the Promenade. The Red Sea on the left, the hotel on the right we started walking, a lot of nice restaurants, cafes, juice places and boutiques of all kinds, a nice breeze from the sea, people walking, eating at outside tables, facing the sea, everything was clean and nice and everyone seemed to have a god time. We stopped at "cafe Cafe" for some grilled fish and a cappuccino, got an outside table, and were surprised when a well fed cat which seemed to be part of the cafe's staff absolutely refused the fish skin/fat we offered. The waiter confirmed to us that he was just a "regular" with a discriminating palate. We took out time, enjoying the food, the breeze and the relaxed atmosphere, walked some more and returned to the hotel. We had a lovely experience and only wished we stayed one more day to repeat it.

This promenade is one of the city's hotspots for walking, eating and some shopping. Also great to see the boats at the marina around and in some spots even safe to leave our baby boy wandering a bit with his bimba with a wonderful red seaview. A bit overcrowded sometimes, specially at night, but this is the touristic center of the city. If you come to Eilat, there's a big chance you'll walk around this promenade.

The shops are nice but didn't really find anything we wanted to buy.
One of our kids sat for a street artist who was very talented and drew her beautifully. It cost 100 nis and his name is Pavel. Highly recommended.

After our tour semi-officially ended in Jerusalem, some of us continued with the tour's optional visit to Eilat, which we did so that we could visit Petra. Eilat is just a beach resort town, mainly for families. Our hotel, like many others, was on the Promenade and our room afforded us a beautiful view of the Red Sea. There isn't much to do in Eilat except sit on the beach or by the pool, eat, shop and walk around. The promenade is a pedestrian walkway running along the beach. It passes hotels, shops and restaurants and makes for a pleasant stroll, even in Eilat's heat.

All this area is interconnected with this Promenade, the Marina, the Red shopping Center and eventually the Hayam Mall.

And if you are ready to add another 5 minutes walk you'll also reach the Ice Mall.
All that in small and walkable shopping area.

Walking there in Summer by day may be too hot (over 40C = 104F), really, and you will not enjoy it.
But walking there after your dinner when the temperature becomes bearable is the right thing to do in the evening before you go to a night club or a pub.

You will pass by so many shops and stores of all kinds with not a few good deals to be made.

In short, you'll enjoy the walk as well as the shopping...

My wife did find some things here for the granddaughters and grandsons. It was more fun looking here that at the mall. Some different things to look at.

After having dinner, it is nice to have a walk.
At night, in summer, after the scalding sun, when the temperature become again bearable, it is quite enjoyable to walk the promenades along the beach and the 5 star Hotels.
This one is one of them.
It offers plenty of stores, restaurants, pubs, eateries and gelateria.
Since Eilat is a VAT free city, you can always do also some shopping and find some attractive deals.

I used to really dislike the Eilat Promenade, as it was always full of street vendors, and not particularly clean or in good repair. But a few years ago, they began a restoration project which first and foremost took all the street vendors away (they got their own closed off section at one point along the promenade, a bit to the side, for anyone interested in this kind of thing), and also fixed it up quite nicely. Now, it makes for a nice walk along the beach resort area in Eilat, with plenty of places to stop along the way for a little shopping or to get a bite to eat, or to have ice cream or frozen yogurt.

Way too many people handing flyers in russian and trying to make you go to some shady restaurants. Other than that it is OK. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Most of them overpriced. Beach by the side seems nice and clean.

The promenade in Eilat is always fun - tax free shopping, decent food, the beach, bars and rides. Think of it as the Jersey Shore in southern Israel. Nothing fancy, a bit seedy but safe and wholesome fun for the entire family.
