The docent staff were very knowledgeable. Yonah found us wandering about and made sure we got a first rate narration at each of the aquarium tanks and made sure we did not miss out on anything at all! She made the visit extra special for us. And best of all she has the same Hebrew name as me!

If you go to Eilat and don’t have a lot of time we highly recommend the underwater Observatory Marine Park. They have a variety of activities besides the observation. It is a place specially for kids to explore and learn throughout many interesting ways about the Red Sea marine life.

Nice place with multiple objects and activities to explore - turtles, sharks and several aquariums with different sea animals and fish. Possible to go to the pier and see the real underwater life, which looks almost like the aquarium. Very nice!
Also you can eat there in simple but good kitchen for not so big money comparing to city center prices.

Get there by city bus for 42 shekels (one way) or 67 shekels (day ticket) in Taba direction (there are bus stop names in english on the bus, you wont miss it).

This is the absolute must see in Eilat, and it has something for everybody. The surface tanks are great, the underwater tower is spectacular and the glass-bottom boat is worth it as well. Also check out the 3d movie.

I have visited this place once before. It was in 1983. Back then it was ranked as second in the whole world and felt really spectacular. 37 years later it must be said that this marine park is somewhat aged and Eilat seems sadly to have given away it`s former position. Many similar establishments (like those in Singapore and Shanghai) for instance have much longer and more impressive tunnels. Also the waters, as seen from the underwater observatory, were according to my memory a lot clearer in 1983 and the amount of sea creatures of different kinds was greater and more colourful in those days. The view, I want to point out, may however change from day to day. That said, this marine park is still well worth a visit and the ticket price of 105 shekels. The best section is without question the shark pool, although it can be crowded at feeding times. Coming here is convenient (if the driver is not thinking he is Lewis Hamilton) with bus number 15 and leaving with number 16.The bus stop is opposite the entrance.

Even though the park is not that big we spent over 4 hours there. The rare fish aquarium was fascinating and we spent quite a while exploring the differesnt aquariums. The shark pool is very cool and the exhibit on the sharks was interesting. The view from the roof of the observatory was beautiful, definitely worth walking up 90 stairs to. The staff is very friendly and the tours were interesting.

This lovely aquarium/observatory allows you to experience sea life without needing to get in the water. You can admire the sea life in their natural habitats - this isn't like a zoo, but rather an opportunity to interact (somewhat) with the sea life without disrupting their habitats. Definitely well worth a visit.

I think 90% of this place you can skip and it still would have been well worth the 100 shekels. That’s because the underground observatory is just so breathtaking. The coral that you can see up close without the discomfort and work of diving underwater! I could just stare at the colors and sea life for hours. The other exhibits are small and have nothing too special. But that observatory is absolutely a 5-star attraction.

I have not been in over twenty years and was happily re-impressed. It seemed smaller this time coming as an adult but perhaps this visit there was more to see with a couple of newish exhibits with HD or interactive touch screens alongside the main 'old fashioned' underwater observatory. We climbed up the tower and then down underwater. Impressive.

Enjoyed our 2 hour visit.

The walkthrough Aquarium was interesting as was the brief glass sided boat trip, though this cools have been enhanced had the guide taken questions. Similarly, the upper observatory could be improved if signage gave distances and directions to visible landmarks.
