- Sherry J1 contributionWe love our new Turkish Rug!Osman was incredibly helpful and patient with us in choosing the perfect rug for our home. We had the opportunity to see how Osman’s rugs are made - the quality is incomparable to the many other rugs we’ve looked at in America and in Turkey! And the price was very affordable. Once we made our selection, Osman packaged the rug up for easy handling during our long trip back to Texas (U.S.A.). Our time with Osman will forever be in our memories and a highlight of our time in Turkey!Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 18, 2023
- Don GHilton Head, South Carolina7 contributionsMust See if Selcuk! We cannot say enough nice things about Osman and Can Carpet. We visited this amazing shop in June 2023 and were treated to a wonderul meal, great conversation and a tour of the facility. Osman was wonderful and treated us like family. Osman showed us many carpets and we eneded up taking one home. For the next few months, we talked about some of the other beautiful carpets we had seen. We ended up buying two additional carpets last month and Osman was so helpful in sending pictures/measurements and so many options. We are so proud to now have 5 extraordinary carpets from Can Carpet in our home. If you are anywhere near Selcuk, you have to stop in to meet Osman and see his wonderul shop. Thank you Osman!Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 20, 2023
- Maggy MWarsaw, Poland27 contributionsStunning beauty of a weavingA hidden gem of art weaving was waiting for us to be discovered in a small village not far from Ephesus. There was a garden with a mulberry tree with branches full of fruit ready to be grabbed and eaten. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who showed us how traditional kilims and carpets are hand made from the moment the wool is cleaned, then dyed and prepared for weaving to the actual end product. I greatly admire the preservation of the weaving traditions that ensure the quality and long lasting beauty of these carpets. I warmly suggest to visit a Can Carpet factory. You will not regret it!Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 7, 2024
- Caroline G1 contributionAMAZING. Well worth a visit, it was fantastic. We had such a warm welcome from Osman Can, his carpet workshop is amazing! He took the time to show me all about the natural dyes they use, the traditional methods, and even made an indigo vat while I was there to demonstrate their methods. I am a keen hand-dyer for yarns, so this was paradise. Even my husband was impressed. Osman is reviving centuries old designs, getting them digitised, then training his workers to make traditional rugs to bring the originals to life. All done with solar power, conserving water, and giving his workforce a secure future. And of course we bought a lovely original carpet!Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 27, 2024
- Peter B1 contributionThe Osman Carpet ExperienceOsman was wonderful! He welcomed me and my family into his home. When we were done eating he gave us a grand tour of his facilities, including how they make hand made rugs! It was so cool, I had never seen anything like it. My father-in-law was so impressed he ended up buying a rug. I just want to say that Osman is a friendly and kind man who works hard and is happy to show people around. We were giving the Turkish royal welcome. Thanks again, Osman!Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 29, 2024

An excellent carpet buying experience from top quality, hand made workshop with the best reputation in the area. Mr. Osman made what can be a high pressure experience an enjoyable learning one where he helped us hone down to the best options based on our preferences. We even video conferenced in our daughter for her to choose one virtually. Excellent service and fair prices for gorgeous carpets not typically found in other Turkey locations. If you want to invest in a carpet during your Turkey vacation (or even remotely) - go here. Since our antique carpet choice (one of three we purchased) needed slight repairs, he arranged then shipped to us in Istanbul to meet us before our flight home. He ships globally as well. Thanks Mr. Osman for the beautiful carpets that we will cherish!

Visiting Osman’s workshop by appointment was one of my favourite activities in Turkey! We were treated to a delicious breakfast in the courtyard. Behind us were beautiful carpets and dyed wool drying in the sun. Osman did a wonderful job giving us a tour in both English and Turkish, demonstrating how different plants are used to create the dyes, and how some colours (indigo) will change when the dyed wool is exposed to oxygen. The quality of the carpets is superb with a wide ranging collection. Osman is clearly very passionate about his business and very knowledgable about it as well.

We went to visit the home carpet factory of Osman Can which was a wonderful experience! You get to see the whole process from colour making, dying as well as the actual carpet making! We even got to try ourselves to make some knots ;)
He has great knowledge and an actual love for the carpets and kilims he sells.
We bought 3 absolutely beautiful antique Kilims from him - for a fair price.
We continued our travels through Turkey and didn´t want to bring the extra weight so Osman Can made sure to deliver the Kilims to Istanbul to our Hotel by the end of our journey. So it was super easy for us to bring them back home.
Check out his shop if you´re looking for some first class carpets or antique Kilims!

We had heard a lot about Osman from a friend that lives local. We waited until our last day to visit his workshop and let me tell you, it is worth the visit. His level of craftsmanship, material and hospitality are unparalleled. Hand spun wool, vegetable dye and all handmade rugs. He is the last of his craft; this is truly a lost art.

In the middle of a 1 month trip, we bought 2 rugs from Osman. We saw them and they were so beautiful that we couldn't resist. We did well. Previously and subsequently, we have not seen a rug that we liked so much. Proof of Osman's taste in the choice of his rugs.
What we also liked: direct speech, no pressure to buy, easy and pleasant exchanges and above all Osman is very accommodating! Perfect !
