To walk where the apostles walked

This beautifully restored archeological site is almost too much to imagine. Work continues to be done. Magical!

Wonderful amble through history once a life line between the sea and the wonderful city of Ephesus. How many pairs of feet have trod this road before me was the thought that entranced me. Although ultimately we could not actually get to the port site my imagination ran riot. As I looked down at the stones beneath me I wondered... More

Arcadian Way is just one of many attractions in Ephesus. Walk through it and you feel like walking through history.

This 500 meter broad straight road led from the port to the center of Ephesus. The Romans were devoted to making a statement about their wealth and power. The first impression the Arcadian Way would have made on arriving visitors would have accomplished that goal.

Arcadian Street is situated between the Harbour Baths and the great theatre. Entering from the port, traders and sailors would first arrive in this street. So it was designed gorgeous with marbel slabs and colonnades. It was constructed in the Hellenistic Period.

This site is simply enthralling - well worth a visit. We took water with us as there was quite a lot of walking.

Enjoy visiting ancient Selcuk and all of the wonderful sites there. One of the many beautiful parts of a visit here is the ability to get right up to the sites and walk among the ruins.

The Arcadian Way in Ephesus Turkey is truly spectacular. There is nothing in the New World that can compare with it. A must see for history buffs.

It's just a road and doesn't really represent the original in any way other than it's location. What is interesting is that it used to go to the port... now you can't even SEE the water! Take that global warming!
