We hired cars so we didn't need a "package tour" of Ephesus, we just needed a guide to show us around and explain some of the history.

Dennis (not his Turkish name) was our guide and gave a personalised service. We met at the Basilica of St John and had a tour around there first. After this it was up to us where we visited.

Dennis suggested we visit a local hand made pottery shop and we could change the babies and use the toilets, he made it clear we were under no obligation to buy anything as the shop was funded by the government to keep the dying art alive. When we saw the hand made unique pieces, we couldn't risist getting something. The guys in the shop were not pushy at all and were happy to have us visit.

We then went to Ephesus. It was great to hear the history and Dennis was extremely knowledgeable. You could tell he has been doing this for many years and has so much information it would take many days to get it all out of him. He was happy to answer any questions we had.

We didn't visit the Terrece houses even though we would have liked to, but because of the prams it would have been too difficult. Dennis always took us the best route to push the prams around the site, so we were greatful.

Even though it was getting late, Dennis was happy to give us a tour of the Ephesus Museum. The museum isn't very big but there are some amazing artifacts that are tiny and you would never see in Ephesus. I would recommend it.

We were really greatful for Dennis and his tour, I would fully recommend doing this if you have hired a car. You can also choose the sites you see and in what order. Dennis drove his own car, wore a face mask the whole time and tried to keep a distance where possible, which we appreciate - many other tour guides we saw weren't wearing face masks, nor were their party wearing masks or keeping a distance.

Thank you so much, and we will call on your services again when we are in the area.

Great tour of the ancient city of Ephesus (including Terrace houses... DEFINITELY want to spring for that), the Basilica of St. John (including where he was once buried), and what is believed by many to be the House of St. Mary, where she and St. John lived for the last nine years of her life. I came alone to İzmir/Kuşadası with only a few days notice, and after a really simple arrangement over Whatsapp, Denizhan personally drove me around and gave me a ton of history about these sites. Price was more than reasonable. This was half historical interest/half personal pilgrimage for me (Anglican priest), and Denizhan was really flexible; I appreciate his ability to tailor this last minute trip to my two different interests for visiting the city. We were able to engage in dialogue about the history and significance of the events, but he also gave me plenty of time to stop, pray, and take pictures whenever we came across something meaningful to me... namely, the location of shops (where St. Paul may have had his tent making business while staying there), the theater where Paul was the subject of an uprising, and of course, the former burial place of St. John. I hope to come to Turkey again with friends, and when I do, I hope to be able to take this tour again with others. Thank you Denizhan!

We joined two private tours led by H. Orçun Kamit. They are the Private Pergamon tour and
Private biblical tour of Ephesus this early September on two separate days.

The ride was great and less traffic in the early morning in order to skip the crowds.

We started early at Basilica of Saint John, then went to a local ceramic factory, headed to the Ephesus site, then had lunch at the place next to a local carpet cultural center that show us the technique of Turkish carpeting and their collections. Then we went to the Ephesus museum where you can find the statues of Artemis.

The tour to Pergamon was a long ride for us from Selcuk. If you do want to visit Troyan and Pergamon, I would suggest staying at Izmir.

We had a chance to walk on the ruins and went through the arches at Pergamon city, theater, temple, middle city, gymnasium, and Eumenides gate. Then we also enjoy the local food. One thing we missed is taking the cable car to the top of the site. It was shut down due to the strong wind situation. So we need to take local taxis. Parking at the top of the site was fined in case you want to drive there yourself. After lunch, we visited The Healing center at Pergamon (Asklepion).

We learned about the histories and stories of these two ancient sites. We also had a chance to walk around the ruins, local foods, and shops that encourage local cultures.

Our guide, Denizhan, was punctual, informative and flexible. We gave him an outline of what we wanted to see in a four-hour tour and got a five-hour tour for the same price. The transportation was very comfortable — a Mercedes van. The tour also included a couple of stops we did not request that were very interesting. the price was less than getting a larger group tour through our cruise ship. I highly recommend this tour company.

We had a wonderful day out with Orçun. We had many questions about Ephesus and Turkey itself, which we had been gathering from our last month in Turkey and he did very well to answer or try to answer them all! We learnt a lot and he was very generous with his time and hospitality, giving us some good tips for Selçuk too. This tour is great value for money - you don’t feel like you are being taken for a tourist ride. Totally recommend.

This was the best private tour we have experienced. We were lucky to have a knowledgeable, flexible, friendly yet professional guide like Denizhan! From the beginning till the end of the tour he brought these breathtaking places back to life with his extremely informative stories. He was very patient with our 8 year old. Annem ve babam için Türkçe, eşim için İngilizce geçişli yaparak, çok detaylı bir şekilde her yerin hikayesini tur boyunca güler yüzle anlattı. He took his time, we were never felt rush! Even though he had to take million pictures of us! You can see from the picture he took he is also a great photographer! :) Absolutely loved every second of it. Highly recommended!!

This was the second time in two years that we asked Mr Denizhan Pekhoz to organize a trip for us whilst we were in Turkey. Just like a year ago, Mr Pekhoz did an excellent job with prompt communications via WhatsApp, and explained every details of the planned trip to Pamukkale/Hierapolis. He even booked the same excellent tour guide Mr Orcun, who a year ago was our guide in Ephesos. Just like last year when he (Mr Orcun) took us to Ephesos, on this occasion too he did an excellent job with an unparalleled detailed knowledge of all the sights we visited.
Throughout the 2 x 3.5 hour journey to Pamukkale and back, we really enjoyed chatting with him and the driver.
The car he booked for us was an upgrade (a large Mercedes, extremely comfortable). The driver (Mr Ahmet) was an excellent, safe and at the same time very knowledgeable driver. Instead of just driving us and dropping us at the sites, he joined us for the sightseeing and contributed very nicely to Mr Orcun's expert and detailed explanations of historical events.
They were both very accommodating, when we requested some changes to the itinerary at the end of the day, they were more than happy to accommodate us.
I highly recommend all of them (Mr Pekhoz, Mr Orcun and Mr Ahmet) for tours, they were a great team!

About a year ago I found Mr Denizhan Pekoz’s details during a Google search and contacted him regarding a private day trip in Ephesus. He immediately replied, and from then on communication with him was excellent, first via email, then WhatsApp. He organized a great day trip for the day we wanted for a very reasonable price. When as a result of a medical emergency we had to cancel the trip just a week prior to the planned tour, he was very understanding, no problem with canceling.
When a year later we contacted him again, he immediately replied and set up a full day private tour as we wanted.
On the day of the tour (2 weeks ago) we very happy to notice that our tour guide Mr Orcun Kamit was extremely knowledgeable about not just the historical facts relating to Ephesus but also had an impressive general knowledge. He was tireless in walking with us and showing all the sights around Selcuk. Before the day of the private tour, he was also contactable and replied to every question we had regarding cost of parking, entrance fees etc.
Taken together, both Mr Pekoz and Mr Kamit did a fantastic job in making sure that we had a very memorable day at Ephesus.

This was an AMAZING experience - we did the tour 5 from Kusadasi. Our guide was Denizhan and he was so informative and went over and above to make our time in Turkey something we will always remember. All the places we went were fascinating and worthwhile going to. The lunch was delicious and ample. It was really good to see the authentic Turkish village as well. The tour was also kindly tailored to our timeframe of our cruise ship.

There is nothing I would change or think could have been improved or enhanced. To anyone who is visiting this area I cannot recommend highly enough Denizhan and his business to cater for your needs - definitely a must over any cruise tour and so so reasonably priced compared to any others I researched. We will be using Denizhan again if we return to the area!!

I contacted Denizhan via an online website. We spoke on the phone and immediately it was apparent I was dealing with a complete professional. Having studied classical civilization I wanted to make sure we had a quality guide who gave much more than a description of what we saw but also a deeper insight connecting facts and incidents on a micro and macro scale.
He was very clear in his explanation what the various possibilities were and the entry costs as certain exhibits are not in Ephesus itself and in Ephesus the terraced houses bore an extra cost.
We agreed on the private tour and he sent a location where we would meet him the next day. We met him at St Johns Basilica, did the tour of that before heading for Ephesus. It was an interesting, incredibly informative and worthwhile tour. His tour of Epeusus was equally good. His knowledge was outstanding, his insight revealing and his manner polite snd genuinely caring. The terraced houses are incredible, pay the little extra to tour them. They are really worth it.
Our guide brought the city to life. He in effect lifted the stones through his description to give you a minds eye view of the city during its various periods. The library of Celsus is a sight to behold. Spend some time to absorb what you are seeing. The front facade is magnificent. I have visited many ancient archaeological sites and I must concede Denizhan was probably the best guide I have ever used. I think he is very fairly priced snd allows you yo choose what you would/not like to see or he does the tour catering to what he sees are your requirements.
