Atmospherical with some troubled past

Sukru Saracoglu Stadium is home to Fenerbahce, the second biggest club from Turkey. The stadium was renovated in mid 90's and became a modern place to watch football games. It has hosted a Europea League final since. Although the number of fans who attend to the stadium decreased based on the tragedies experienced especially in last 10 years the match day is still a nice experience. It is also one of the most centrally located stadiums in Turkey. 10 mins from Kadıkoy's center.

Stadium Tour
Jun 2018 • Family
A brilliant stadium and I absolutely loved the tour.

The tours run ever 15 or 30 minutes (don't know if and when tours run on match days) and you just turn up, no booking required. The price of the tour ...

On the tour you visit where the media watch the home games as well as their lounge, both the home and away dressing rooms, press area where the team and managers are interviewed pre and post match. You will then walk out of the tunnel to pitch side where you can sit in the dugout before walking around the side of the pitch leading to the museum and the (bigger) club shop.

As well as the main (bigger) club shop, there is also another club shop on the other side of the stadium. There is also a statue Alex de souza, a former Fenerbahce player located just over the bridge where the Migros is, by the stadium.

For me, the only thing that could have gone better is more time to read about the areas and history of the stadium because neither my dad or my self could understand the tour guide because of the language barrier. Saying that, I would do the tour again any time!

Great experience

I went to Sukru Saracoglu Stadium to watch derby match between Fenerbahce and Besiktas. I had a very great night. The stadium is very big. The atmosphere during the match was amazing. Turkish are definitely passionate when it comes to football. There are many gates and the security checks are many during the match. So, make sure you arrive there early to watch the game

Best stadium and best fans in the world. If you visit Istanbul you must see this stadium. If you want to see fans so you should buy ticket for Fenerbahce against Galatasaray game. It was top derby of the world a few years ago but still it's same for them. You must see them.

Personally I love this stadium. On the same grounds since 1907 (opened in 1908)...the same year they were founded. Wife & I had excellent seats for a great match. Didn't get to go to the museum, but I will in the future. I will be back in the near future.

I've been for a match watching fenerbahce playing against galatasaray. It's THE turkish clash of two istanbuk rivals. Bought the tickets in advance there is no chance buying them at the stadium on kickoff day. Derby tickets are sold out quickly.

Yaşa Fenerbahçe!
Feb 2015 • Family
Situated in Fenerbahçe area (Asian side, just across the straight). Easily reachable from European side either by ferry or by subway. Stadium built in 1908, several times reconstructed and now classified as a 5-star stadium per UEFA.
Named in honour of Fenerbahçe FC president in 1930-1940.
Capacity nearly 50,000. Comfortable, heated, safe. Great fans, fantastic atmosphere.
Your local friends stop speaking English just after kick-off, they shout and murmur, hail and pray, taunt and get angry in Turkish! You gladly join the crowd chanting
Yaşa Fenerbahçe - Long Live!
This stadium hosted the first European Cup Final in Asia. It was the last UEFA Cup in 2009. Only Brazilians scored in this game as Shakhtar (Ukraine) beat Werder (Germany) 2-1 in extra time. The first goal scorer Luiz Adriano (Shakhtar) plays for AC Milan now. Turk German Mesut Özil taking the lead place in Arsenal, London.
P.S. Passport/ID is compulsory to buy a ticket. Unfortunately there are no replays on the screen, so better be attentive spectator.!
