This tour was more than we could expect, even after all enthusiastic reviews. Gokcen is an excellent guide: intelligent, passionate about food and flexible. I travelled with my mother, and he kindly adjusted the tour to our possibilities and limitations. We visited both Asian and European side, and entered the places we would never visit on our own. Besides, Gokcen... More

What a fun, comprehensive food tour. We started in the European area down by the water. Got to stop at 3 places here, before taking the ferry to the Asian side. What an adventure.stopped at 3 places here, all of the great stops. Back to the European side for many more diverse stops from wraps to the best coffee in... More

I concur with all previous reviews . Gokcen - G , is a perfect and most gracious host. We contacted G for a tour of our family of 5 ( with three teenage girls ), he is flexible and worked around our plans so we started later in the afternoon which allowed us to do some sightseeing first thing in... My girlfriend and I were in Istanbul for 24 hours and we found G on Trip Advisor in our search for how to spend our one and only evening in the city. The overwhelmingly positive reviews are what sold us and we were not disappointed. G took us to places that we would have never found as tourists and we... More

We were lucky enough to be guided by Samen, whose deep knowledge, engaging manner, and enthusiasm both for the food and her country are not to be missed. Next time we're in Istanbul we will absolutely be sure to take another tour with her...

If learning about food, politics, traditions, religion and believe that one of the best ways to experience and obtain this is with a local, then this tour is for you. G was an incredible guide. He took us to places that only a local knows, we tasted a lot of different dishes, in different places, street food, talked about the... More

We did the two continents tour, or at least G tailored the tour to what we wanted to see and do. Like most other reviews, I can rave on and on about how interesting this was, but quickly I want to give some tips. 1. Great way to experience Istanbul with a local 2. As a tourist, there is little... More

This was the highlight of our stay in Istanbul. An absolute must do for people who enjoy not just the food but some of the history of the food and the markets. Every minute was packed with sights, sounds and colour as well as layer upon layer of taste. Gökçen Ceylan was well informed and knew all sorts of small... More

Easily one of the highlights of a spectacular holiday. We were picked up at the hotel and given a great local experience of the tram and the ferry. Every bite we consumed all day was full of flavour, history and tradition. The conversation flowed easily -- as though spending the day with a new friend! We talked about Turkish politics,... More

We spent most of a day with Sanem on a wonderful culinary adventure. She met us at our hotel and told us to be hungry, which was good advice. The next six hours were spent exploring shops, vendors, street food, restaurants, and food markets. She clearly knows all the chefs and vendors. A tasting session at Haci Bekir (the best... More
