The area
Neighborhood: Uskudar
Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighborhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.

This relatively small mosque is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, at Üsküdar district. It has been built in 1760 but as its minaret has been struck by a lightnening twice, it has been majorly renovated twice, in 1872 and 1881. It reflects the Ottoman Baroque style. Bird house (in fact bird "palace") on its façade is very well preserved.
There is nothing too spectacular to specifically visit this mosque, it can be said to be a standard Ottoman mosque but if you are around Üsküdar and have time to spend, then why not visiting?

Ayazma Mosque is located in Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi District of Üsküdar Town in İstanbul. This nice Mosque had gone several renovations during this century and soon will go another one.Very easy to reach to this Mosque by public transportation, specially by Marmaray which is about 10 minutes on foot from the Üsküdar station. Many buses are also available to this station where youndan walk away in about 10 minutes.Inside the Mosque courtyard, you are also going to see some thombs of Ottoman people.Due to its good location, nice to see this Mosque as it is in the heart of Üküdar Town.Inside of the Mosque is superb and very quiet and cool ambiance to visit and pray in total relax.Recommended to visit this one.
