Gokhan was an awesome tour guide for my friends and I when we visited Turkey on a 12 day trip. He was very friendly, nice, fun, cool, hard working, and knowledgeable. He was also very caring and went out of his way to help us. My luggage did not arrive in Turkey until two days after I arrived. Being in... More

My wife and I had toured Turkey with Gokhan in 2013 and hugely benefited from his insights and knowledge of the country. In Istanbul, be sure to do at least a walkable tour with him, for it will help a lot to move around the city afterwards. And do ask for food recommendations!!

I was lucky to be a part of a wonderful tour of Turkey with Gokhan in June 2014 along with 14 others. Gokhan is very passionate about his job and his country. He knows so much about the history and places to see in Turkey, and he took us to some beautiful places & swimming spots. We learned how to... More

My two week group guided tour with Gokhan in Turkey was my first tour guide experience and it was incredible! His local knowledge (both current and historic) was very impressive and I came home feeling I was able to experience as much as I was able to fit in. Gokhan was flexible to the groups needs, giving us options where... More

we did an 11 day tour from Istanbul to Antalya with Gokhan. The trip itself was amazing and I was constantly surprised by the beauty and history of Turkey. Gokhan is extremely informative, knowledgeable and helpful. He would always take our feelings and expectations into consideration and alter the timetable to suit us! If I ever travel to Turkey again... More

Not only is Turkey my favourite all-time destination but Gokhan would have to be my favourite tour guide. Not only did Gokhan's tour guide knowledge keep me fully satisfied - as I am a history and culture "sponge" and love all those historical facts and dates - but Gokhan was also able to keep mixed age group of travellers entertained... Gokhan really enriched my tour of Turkey with not only his wealth of interesting information but also his charming personality and sense of fun. His command of idiomatic English was excellent and he constantly went "beyond the call of duty" to make sure his group of eleven people from various countries felt happy, satisfied, and well-looked after. He would definitely... More

One of the best experiences of my life Gokhan and his wealth of knowledge is amazing. Being a solo female traveller Gokhan made me feel safe and we built a long term friendship. He is an amazing person who helps you to understand and enjoy Turkey at its finest. Being from a Greek background myself I found Gokhan to have... More

My family and I went on a 2 weeks tour around Turkey guided by Gokhan. We visited numerous places around Turkey. The ruins at Ephesus put as at awe. The travertines at Pamukkale was splendid. Riding the hot air balloon at Cappadocia was unforgettable. Even just looking at the sunset during a simple ferry ride around the Bosphorus straits was... More

Staying in Sisli

Neighborhood Profile
Sisli
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
