The range of art works is of a very high standard and excellently presented. Has also a good restaurant with great views along the waterfront.

For those who want to explore contemporary art in Turkey, this is the place to go. Also, the cafe by the Bosphorus must be one of the best locations to zip a coffee by the water watching the ships sail by.

The Wallpaper guide recommended this museum, and I find their recommendations to be pretty spot-on. The exhibits were great and ground floor is doable without getting overly-saturated. The lower floor got overwhelming although it had a great photo exhibit and the iconic hanging books piece...More

The permanent exhibit presents a good overview of Turkish art, and the temporary photography exhibit was wonderful. The restaurant in the museum is frightfully expensive.

Just off the Tophane stop on the main tram line, the IM is a nice stop to give a flavor of where Turkish modern art is and where it is heading. The Karakoy neighborhood next door also offers lots of good lunch stops as well...More

This is a nice sized museum focusing on Turkish modern art (from late nineteenth century onward). It is a pleasant space and worth an hour or so, but not a must see. The restaurant, however, is terrific and a great place for lunch.

Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy
is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at
the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most
historically significant area, it’s currently one of
the most happening parts of town as well. Here street
vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks
of the Horn where the views of major attractions
across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions,
