Set in a bay just by the Bosphorus strait shores on the European side, this is an upscale area of the two continent city. Walking the promenade you'll be rewarded with exceptional views, while on the land side amazing modern villas arise. Many cafes and nice small shops around.

This time we had a long walk between the two main cable-stayed bridges starting from the Rumeli Hisari in Aşiyan till the Ortaköy Mosque. Although there are points that walking by is difficult and not enjoyable (with limited and neglected space for pedestrians), there are others which they will pay you back with the excellent views and the nice "fleur". Ships come and go, the breeze is always refreshing and the sun warms your face nicely in a peaceful afternoon. We had a nice meal with sea food in Bebek and a nice cup of coffee in Ortaköy. …

Bebek is a lovely up market area in Istanbul, along the Bosphorus. It has some amazing cafes and and boutique shops and a long stroll across the promenade is always enjoyable.
