An absolute great place to shop for all the beautiful souvenirs that Istanbul has to offer. We scrolled the bazaars and looked around in many shops but this one is by far the best. They even stayed open a little longer for us so we could have our dinner first!

Great selection of beautiful, traditional handcrafts. Mostly ceramics, most notably a large selection of skillfully painted bowls in different sizes and high quality fridge magnets for 2L.

We passed by this store and saw some very unique items. What was even more unique was how amazing the owner was. At this point in our stay we expected people trying to hail us into their shops and over pricing us. This shop was quite the opposite! The owner didn't rush us at all and even gave us amazing... I was so privileged to have found this little piece of heaven in Istanbul during my recent travels. Amazing owners Hasan and his brother are so friendly and have the most incredible ceramic and fabric treasures - I don't have a home yet but bought as much as I could carry to decorate it one day !!! Visit this shop,... More

Amazing service from this lovely shop. I found them friendly, polite and not 'hard sell' at all. In fact their prices compared favorably with many others that we saw. I bought a Kelim, a bag and various other pottery items all of which were delivered to our hotel. Highly recommended especially if one is slightly intimidated by the hurly burly... More

I spent a few days in Istanbul recently and made a return visit (there have been lots!) to one of my favourite places in the entire city : the beautiful carpet shop and Nomadic Art Gallery of Hasan Karaca and his brother Ugur. It is an oasis of calm, unpretentious elegance, beauty and the most sincere friendship anyone could wish... More

The last 3 years I have visited Heritage Nomadic Art Gallery. In 2014 I found this wonderful little place just in the heart of Istanbul and bought a few tiles and other things. I was so impressed with the owners, Hassan and Ugur, that I returned in 2015. Again I bought more tiles to do my kitchen wall. After installing... More

I steppe in this shop as I was short on time, the owner was very helpful. The prices are reasonable but there are still places where you can get better prices. The items on display are of really good quality. Be sure to go downstairs, there are a lot more to see.

This place has a smattering of everything you'd find at the Grand Bazaar (carpets, textiles, jewelry, pottery, etc), but with higher quality goods at much better prices -- and without all the stress of sorting through the Bazaar's inferior merchandise and dealing with hawkers. We purchased several items at Heritage, then went to the Grand Bazaar for two days, and... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
