Neighborhood: Uskudar
Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighborhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.

This is a venue people rent for the events like graduation ceremonies or weddings etc. There is also a nice restaurant (Borsa Lokantası) inside along with an art gallery. The building used to be the palace of Adile Sultan, one of the sisters of Sultan Abdülaziz, built back in 1853. Inside the large gardens, resides today one of the well-established high schools of Turkey. The view of Bosphorus from here is breathtaking. People don't come here without a specific reason such as an event or lunch/dinner at the restaurant. There is a vallet service for parking.

It’s a beautiful place to visit for people who know about Hababam Sinifi. We had the privilege to view the second floor of this building it was amazing.
On the first floor there is a museum and on the second floor you can walk around to see the beautiful interior design of the mansion.
In the garden there is a space where you can sit and have something to eat and drink.

I really enjoy going there because it reminds my childhood to me. The building is historical well kept. Now it has a museum of a Turkish comedy movie series made in late 70's. Therefore many people are interested to see it.

Adile Sultan Kasrı is an ideal location for a special reception, a wedding, meetings or for simply a romantic evening. Konyalı restaurant located inside this beautiful Palace offers the best of the Turkish cuisine. You will enjoy the cuisine overlooking one of the most beautiful sceneries in the world! I especially suggest you to try the "döner" which is very delicious. Adile Sultan Kasrı has a fabulous ball room for weddings, large and elegantly decorated rooms for special meetings. The history of the Palace is also so special. It belonged to one of the sisters of Abdülmecit - the last caliphate of the Ottoman Empire -. She was one of the few Ottoman female poets and a philanthropist. You will travel in time in this beautiful Palace. It is another "must see" in this city of "grandeur".

Delicious meals, great Istanbul view. It's hard to walk (actually climb) to the restaurant from the main street, so you may want to go there by car/taxi etc. Have a good dinner :)

Adile Sultan Pavilion, where we went for a relative's wedding, smells like history. The Hababam class museum brings you together with nostalgia.
